Orbital railcannon
As we all can agree that the railcannon is kinda underwhelming since the elites rework and regarding all the new strats that are better at doing the same job. Its one of the only stratagem that didnt had a single change, why the status quo ?

No..90 seconds for orbital railcannon would be too op. Orbital railcannon shines best when you are overwhelmed with enemies and your AT weapon is either on CD or needs reloading. It is not meant to be a quick spam stratagem like the orbital precision strike.

On Automatons, sure maybe you feel it's underwhelming cause the heavies there can be taken out by even AMR except Factory Strider ofc. But on Terminids, you'll be glad someone got you covered when your RR needs reloading or your Quasar on CD while you are surrounded by God knows how many Chargers and BT.

1) I didn't want to compare it to weapons because I feel if you're bringing EATs or the RR for example, you don't really need the railcannon strike. I only usually bring the RC strike now if I'm bringing something like the railgun as a support weapon.

2) The laser is a terrible thing to compare the railcannon to. Yes, it's fantastic at clearing out a base, just beyond compare in my opinion, however - to kill a bile titan with a railcannon takes about a second or two. For a laser, it's 6 seconds, minimum. If I want a bile titan to die, I want it to die straight away.

I'll reiterate - I don't think the railcannon is perfect. I do think the railcannon is very good at what it does, which is point click deletion of nearly every enemy in the game. I don't think there's anything else that does it as well, reliably or safely as the railcannon.
Fair enough.
Overall, I don't want to rework RC into anything other than a single-target remover, I just want it to be as viable as other options. IMO it would come a long way if it had cooldown of an OPS aka 90s and maybe an extra feature or two such as the ones I suggested above:
- Ignore squid shields
- Prioritize the targets marked by the user, since we already have a grenade which does that so the code exists

Having thought about it over the course of this thread, I'm curious what opinions would be if it just had like.. 5-10 rounds but you could fire them within short order (like an eagle strike), but then that was it, no reloads. So you could delete 5-10 things at once, or spread them out over a map.

You can handwave this away as saying the barrel needs to be replaced after firing a certain amount of shots if people particularly cared, but I think it would put it in a nice niche where it has more viability in certain scenarios.

Maybe make it so it has better VFX when it hits the ground (kicking up a cloud of dirt), and maybe an upgrade that has it either fire two shots before cooldown like the 500kg. Or have it fire two shots in succession with one stratagem beacon. Get that double tap rule of cool

EDIT: Tbh, could just make it into a Halo MAC shot. I want that OP killshot

Something that big and powerful would have an explosive impact. It should send pieces flying out in all directions.
Maybe those pieces will hit you, or a teammate and kill. Maybe it'll take out some enemies.
Either way it would be pretty hilarious.

i kinda agree but the terminids arent a good point for the RC, it kills one, then youre dead XD
its litterally not the thing to pop in this case scenario (with some thought every faction isnt a good scenario when youre surrounded by elites), stun and gaz nades + 500 kg for instance will kill a good part of the prob and remember that the RC wasnt designed at LAUNCH, when you couldnt kill Chargers and BT easily, at that time it was good for doing what he does... Thats a lit take ngl, that or litteraly like an eagle, you got few rounds with 6-8 sec of reload then a big reload (the barrel replacement)
