So i woke up to a patch for helldivers 2 today and its taking ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ forever and keeps giving me write error. this patch ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up? not sure what the issue is my drive is fine updating other games

It did take awhile for me about 12-15 minutes from start to finish, and that's on a Gen 4 M.2 SSD.

took me like 4 minutes , NVME with 2gb DRAM , also my CPU wasnt throttling the patching progress ( was loaded at 56-80% and my NVME constantly at 1gb+ )

This single patch took longer than it took me to download and install the game for the first time. Installed on an SSD as well.

Ya im on a SSD 990 evo roughly 1tb still on it for storage but keep getting a write error but every other game on that drive is updating fine even uninstalling/reinstalling other games and it still works but with helldivers its drops right around 68%

70 mb patch for me.. and it wont even download.. says no disk space. mate i have 80gigs free

SSD 1gb fibre and ethernat, takes quicker time to redownload arma 3 or ark SE then to do this "update of 65mb"

It isn't clear why the patch took so long. I'd suggest verifying your files after you install. But it did work - the uliminated strat glitch is gone.

My DIsk usage is 10Mb/sec on average. It is expected to last 2.5 hours. If i do that math, it's not writing 60Mb patch into a 107Gb game, it's rewriting the entire 107Gb, 10Mb at a time.

It's not patching the game for me, it's rebuilding the entire thing.

Please help. Someone. Any one..

seems like my fix was to clear cache and redownload the steam common distributable or whatever and should work back to normal

Took me 30 seconds to download and 15 minutes for the patch to integrate on a fast NVMe SSD. Decent processor, plenty of ram. Something is very inefficient in the implementation of the emergency patch.

Also, this is core gameplay where nothing should have changed in a year. Why was it broken in the last patch? Why was the code for it even touched? Why does someone at Arrowhead keep breaking functioning code (this, before that sighting, before that weapon inertia, before that...etc).

This 68 Mb update is taking more than 2 hours to install …
Way more time than it took to download and install the full game.
