Only 30 dmg more than the Dilligence, and the ammo capacity is so much worse than the Dilligence, only having less than 10 shots compared to 25 shots in the Dilligence...
Diligence is good.
I'm going to be super real with you, there are many god-tier head poppers right now. I feel like it should have been an upgrade from the constitution (You know, an amendment to the constitution) Instead of a side to the counter sniper. I say this as an avid scoped weapon user. Like I'm hyped for the new weapon but c'mon it wrote itself. The constitution can't be customized right now anyway, so being able to use a scope on it would have brought it up to A-tier for me.
Alas.
It's the constitution with automatic loading, a magazine and a scope. They gave it light pen to balance it out. This is how Arrowhead works. If you've been around long enough, you should already have this figured out.
You've already got three other medium pen rifles in the exact same catagory. Having another light pen marksman rifle isn't a terrible thing.
They could have kept the bolt action for balance and reduced the mag from 20 to 10, this would have made it an "amendment" to the performance of the constitution, instead we have something that under performs since the diligence rifle, has 10 more rounds to mag, and while it does less damage, most bot heads only have 100HP, so as long as the bullet does more than 100 damage, it doesn't matter as long as you're accurate.
Means right now the diligence out performs it if you can land shots, and if you can't you need to use a full auto anyway, but none of that matters, since I would consider its direct competition in terms of potential use to be the R6-Deadeye, it has a nice scope, lever action, and 300 damage, medium penetration and 7 rounds to the mag, which everyone who can grab it gravitates to.
I am going to stick to my eruptor for now, and if they allowed me to mount a scope on the constitution I'd switch in a heart beat, but for now my rifles are Eruptor, Diligence, and Deadeye, I'm glad people enjoy it, I enjoy it to, I just also see no reason to really use it outside of completion, it does a comparable job to an existing rifle with less rounds in the mag.
This kind of mindset is what leads to cringe power creep in video games, not every new gun has to be a direct upgrade from the old ones (even though the r2 is pretty much just a better deligance xd)
sidegrades > direct upgrades
Damage
Already an issue, if it can pop dev heads in one shot, it's fine for bots, which is at 110 damage, nobody was asking for a DMR that was 200, we already have the DCS.
Handling
The issue the DCS has is ass handling where it is now the primary with the WORST HANDLING IN THE GAME. Yes, even Dominator and Eruptor have better handling now. Nevermind the fact that the devs don't know how angled grips work and think we should trade recoil control for ergonomics despite that being the wrong. Angled grips also improve recoil control in real life. Yet we have a LIGHT PEN WEAPON that handles like a fridge at almost the SAME VALUE AS THE DCS. WHY!!!!??????
Penetration
I want someone with a straight face to tell me that they use the dilligence constantly, nobody ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ does. If anyone is using a DMR right now it's been the new Deadeye since it came out, I haven't seen a DCS since that warbonds launch and I haven't seen a base Diligence since escalation of freedom. Medium pen should be the STANDARD for DMRs.
Ammo
We trade 35 damage for 5 less rounds per mag that the Diligence? LMAO.
Breakpoints
People who think damage trade is good need to understand breakpoints. I can break a Dev leg in the same amount of shots as I can with the DCS, what does that tell you? That the DCS overkills on the breakpoint compared to the Amendment. Same goes for bugs, some will take 2 shots regardless if you use DCS or Diligence. So if that is the case, why the hell would I trade: Handling, ammo, and pen for the same breakpoints? WHY?????!!!
Overall this weapon is so garbage I'd rather be caught naked with the constitution in a Field of Hulks than have this gun. I want a refund for this warbond.
