ArrowHead missed an opportunity today...

[The Dess 2023 GOTY Edition]

Today as of time of this post is the first Anniversary for Hell Divers 2. I logically thought we would get something in terms of more content besides warbonds. Personally, I just wanted more mission objectives as the current 7 missions bore me to tears, especially the defense campaign variants.

Even if they dropped anything after today it's effect will be moderate at best, today would have been a fantastic day to drop the recently released war bond and any additional content they planned. This, I believe would have seen player pop count EXPLODE as the hype of the anniversary would be maximised but no, nothing close to this even happened.

I, just, don't understand how the minds of ArrowHead works; especially after today. And this makes me think that they really do not understand how or why their game became this popular.

Even the recent player pop count increased in anticipation of today (and of course the chance to utilise the new war bond) but it turned out to just be yet another day for AH, the galactic war and the player base. I dunno man, I just feel somewhat demoralised and disappointed at the complete lack of nothing special happening on the game's first anniversary after it's original launch exploded into the common space to much fanfare.

And yes. I am allowed to be disappointed, I really love this game and would love to see it maximise its potential but it seems that in reality it literally is held back by it's own dev team whom I am completely unable to even understand at this point. Oh well, wishing you all a fun weekend of gaming at the very least.

Last patch broke aiming and game is crashing again, so lets fix it again .. for the 5th time .. and lets not care about some 1 year anniversary which means absolutely nothing

We will likely never know but lets just say that they actually had everything prepared to release a big content update today they would more than likely NOT have done that.

If you have not heard about it yet Sony is having some major issues with their services, there is about a snowballs chance in hell that they would let a big update like that happen when no one on Playstation could play it, imagine how upset people already are not being able to play but then add a big content update that they would miss as well(be one or several days late in joining).

Sony would be taking a massive PR hit even worse than they already are, they would not let that happen easily.

Im kinda annoyed by this too. I was really looking forward to this weekend being atleast "something" for a content drop, but instead AH kicks the can down the road even longer. Ok, so the meridia blackhole is moving imperceptibly slowly towards angels venture, but we have like 5 days to run around chasing annoying ass illuminate pop ups to stop it... all this is for a faction that is basically still half finished.... even the actually *good* youtubers were perdicting they would do *something* for the anniversary besides drop a skin. Honestly I kinda WANT the illuminate to destroy angels venture, lol. at the moment this is still feeling like the galactic war where nothing ever really happens. the automatons lose some planets, but then re-expand back to where they were, the players wind up diving on planets with numbers that are always JUST enough to be at a stalemate/ slowly losing, the illuminate vanguard continually ♥♥♥♥ around doing "things", and meanwhile the terminids are just hiding inside of the gloom, lol.

Honestly surprised they bothered to release an armour set. Even if it is just a reskin with the same passive.

Arrowhead are better, but they still make some crappy decisions.

I guess the concept of anniversaries is beyond you; the game is already a grind, only 7 missions which basically means grinding. but ok, keep waiting on those fIxEs..

Pack it up, devs. You missed the ONLY date that matters to release all of the content you have ever planned to implement in the future. Sure, you CAN release all sorts of cool content several months from now, but what's even the point if it won't be on the 1-year anniversary?!

Ahhh ok, I wasn't aware of this outage but Arrowhead could also have said something to that effect if it torpedoed their plans though.

Yeah but you should understand that they are business partners with Sony being the publisher, AH would not throw them under the buss like that.

I mean even if we ignore the whole Sony stuff AH has little to gain from putting the PC players against the PS players "Because of them we, the PC players, did not get the new content?! REEE!"

While people are complaining now it would have been even worse if they put a target on Sony/PS players for being the reason we did not get the content now. Not saying anything and pretending they were not planning anything for today would be the least disruptive way to handle it since we do not know if they even did have anything planned to begin with.
