Unpopular Opinion : R-63 Diligence better than the medium-pen variant (against Bots)
why do i say this?

Because of two reasons, one it's because it got 20 rounds in the mag, and the second essentially boils dow to what the gun is made for : a marksman rifle.

Think about it, the medium-pen variant is a bit redundant because against Berserkers and all sorts of Devastators you already want to go for headshots and weakspot damage in the first place .

Only with the Standard R-63 Diligence, you got way more shots at your disposal (20), 8 spare magazines (as opposed to 6), the damage is still considerable, plus having said 20 bullets you are also decent at dealing with numerous Troopers!

Just saying, people, don't sleep on this weapon!

In no way is this better.

Bringing in a light primary just gimps your gameplay to a factor of 10 on bots.

If you aren't running a medium pen primary you are a lead weight around your teams neck.

I tried, but I don't like having to do perfect headshot all the time.
I like having the option of blasting their chest "weakspot" and kill them fast anyway.
I got one better, OP: Go for the explosive marksman rifle, and forget about both of them:

- One-shots anything light-armored (and most mediums): Check
- AOE: Check
- Medium pen: Check
- Marksman: Check
- Looks great: Check

Light is never better than medium pen.

The problem with light pen is that you end doing something called "armor matching" which actually lowers your damage by 65%. That's not including the damage drop off that all weapons already have happen to them. Not a huge deal against bots if you able to always hit their weak points, but it does lower your damage on certain enemies

One of the main reasons why the DCS is better is being able to kill both strider variants with it. Give them both just a couple nut shots and they die. This lets you take down almost every bot enemy the game throws at you from the front and without having to swap weapons. With the regular diligence you're forced to having to try for a trick shot by aiming at their rockets or by flanking said strider or by swapping weapons
The counter sniper also has more bullet spread than the regular diligence I have learned. I still prefer the CS as it 1 taps basic bots and quickly takes down berserkers.

Scythe or Dominator will do the same job though. In fact the tenderizer on burst is a better diligence rifle for its role. Purifier is just better than the rest currently. Though the supply pack makes any weapon viable.

Against bots and if you're actually going for weakspot shots (headshots, mainly), then yes the base Diligence is better overall, better handling for the job and you don't have to mind about ammo/reload that much.

Against bugs, the CS variant gets more uses (mainly against the bile spewer since you can't damage the head/legs), but the worse handling and ammo economy makes it tedious against other light bugs, so the basic Diligence is more practical overall.

It's better to take a secondary with medium armor penetration in case you must help with medium. I find the Loyalist to be very good, and since you probably won't be too close to the fight most of the time, you can afford charged shot for stagger and big damage.

I find that it's a nice light pen weapons since you can use it at long range, taking down isolated/flanking targets quickly while the big pack is taken care of. Nicely paired with a SPEAR for a fast heavy-kill at medium-long range.
The Diligence strictly better than the DCS if you can aim
Which explains why most players prefer the DCS

Or people who like the DCS more like that you can kill striders with it which are a very common enemy on bot maps. I prefer to be able to kill them without having to swap weapons and it's quite easy to do with the DCS with a few nut shots

I disagree with you on all counts because you clearly don't understand the difference between the two.

I do agree that the Diligence is a fine weapon for the bot side and a pox on anyone who thinks it sucks. Skill issue. Get good. The only things I can't kill with it are heavily armored targets and that's why I bring rockets and stratagems.

Not able to hit targets 200meters away: check

By that logic why not just use the revolver.
