Meridia Black hole
Is something happening?

Might just be me seeing things, but the other day I accidentely jumped into system again when browsing the galaxy map during quickplay matchmaking.

When I left the map and looked at where the Black Hole should be; It wasn't there!
Just mist and a purple-ish backdrop and lighting. Very eerie.
I figured it was a bug and thought nothing more of it, jumping into a match and carried on with my day.

Now out of curiousity, I went back again to verify what I had seen: The Black Hole is still there, meaning it probably bugged out on my accidental trip, but to me the visuals seem different from when I saw it the very first time.

Now, it might be that the only other time I ever visited was after it first just imploded; But it seems to me there is a bigger ring of debris / accretiondisk around it and the lighting seems to have changed. Not sure about the soundeffects as I cant really remember the sound of my first trip.

Am I seeing things? Am I going crazy? Or has anybody else noticed a difference?
And if so: Does it mean anything? Or might it just be a graphical update with no deeper meaning?

Just curious.

You're not insane. A recent MO saw the establishment of a science outpost on Fenrir III to observe the Meridia blackhole which started changing after the Illuminate attacked.

It's been reclassified as a wormhole and supposedly linked to whatever the Illuminate are doing including their resurgence.

More will be revealed the next time the Illumiate are up as a Major Order. Stay tuned.

Ah, that kinda makes sense.

Typical Super Earth; Go on leave for a bit and when you come back the fabric of space-time is getting torn to bits, awesome >.<

Seems I have some reading up to do about SE shenenigans during my absence.

I recommend the YT Channel Galactic Data War Archive which has been chronicling every little event that's happens since launch. Guy doesn't miss a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ thing. You can get caught up on the course of the Galactic War.

On bugs that lead to screechers.

I noticed if I log out at meridia, logging back in makes the black hole invisible

Typical super-earth command is :
> See fire
> Send helldivers with Jerricans to douze it off.
> See new bigger fire
> Half admit that Jerricans was filled with Gazoline but 'they had no way to know at that time' TM
> Send Helldivers to douze off new fire with Kerozene

My best bet is that Super-Earth is managed by Super-ChatGPT users
