What is the best weapons/ Stragtegems to defeat Harvesters?
Hello Helldivers, I am curious what is your preferred way to deal with the Harvesters/ walkers?

MG-43, aim at leg joints (the one that meets the body in particular).

Recommended mostly because it's good against the rest of their roster.

Lascannon, aimed at the leg joint. I haven't tried it on a hot planet yet, but on a normal planet the lascannon has enough charge to bust through the shield and take the Leg off. and then can go back to cooling down, meaning you won't need ammo.

The big laser is also very much easier to aim at medium to long range than the heavy MG.

If, it won't work on hot climates, then i'd go with the Heavy MG. Its a bit of a pain to snipe with it on medium to long range. If you burst fire the thing you can get away with about 2/3rd to 3/4th of a mag per walker. Which isn't terribly effective.

Honorable mention: Autocannon. Fully loaded it can burst through the Shield and take the leg off. The main reason i am using the HMG over the Autocannon on Illuminates is that the first person aim of the Autocannon robs you the sight and those city maps result in surprise Voteless appearing right next to you... and HMG doesn't rob my vision.

If someone else strips the shield for you the Antimaterial Rifle is also a good option to take those legs off.


Either case... aim for (one and the same) leg joint that connects the legs to the main body. If you can't get a solid aim... aim for the small pylon thingy on top of their head, its where the shield generator is. At least that prevents them from shielding again.

Without shield 3 impact grenades to the body also kills them.

And if you have the Team for it.. HMG Emplacement chews through them like they are paper.

The commando can strip its shield and kill it in 3 missiles with 1 spare just in case you miss the leg joint, you can call in a new one every couple of minutes.
HMG (the support gun one) is crazy good at both striping shield and shooting their legs off.

Otherwise, most of your favorite bots support guns also work here as long as you have something to drain the shield before trying to shoot their legs off.
I would also remark that a lot of people die in-game because they are overly focused on the harvester itself. Overseers (flying especially) should be your top priority to eliminate first. The harvester is a big bulky thing that's easy to track and avoid it's beam. It's better to just focus on the smaller stuff and not get overwhelmed by them first in a fight.

I would also remark that a lot of people die in-game because they are overly focused on the harvester itself. Overseers (flying especially) should be your top priority to eliminate first.

True. Especially the elevated overseers. They are the only real threat aside from Harvesters in some situations. All arround faction is weak right now, cause they still only have 5 units and 1 tactical emplacement.

Until they get allowed to hit a full burst in your head, so you die instantly. At least normal Overseers can't Insta-kill you when they are allowed to hit.
