Gas needs a buff
Specificaly talking about the “Guard Dog” Dog Breath and Sterilizer.

Am I the only one that feels like the gass needs a buff or complete rework, why would i take gass if i can take the fire. The gass strike stratagem and the grenade are good but the rest feel WAY too weak.

Yeah I agree, although it serves more as a team support weapon and the satisfaction using this is greater when working as one. Gas a group and the flamethrower guy can finish them off. Or equip the flame pistol to solo it in a pinch. But there are better options available. Maybe add a little more utility, like destroying bugholes and fabs when spraying into them. Adding faster kill times would make the flamethrower obsolete.

It has better range than a flamethrower though and better crowd control since you dont do much stagger with flames.
Ever tried to engage a stalker with fe a torcher/berserker? it isnt recommended..
Why would you take the Dogbreath which requires enemies to be up close for it to spray and confuse them when you can get dog rover which outrights kills them and solves the problem way better?

Also the sterilizer would work much better if the gas would linger like the gas clouds from grenades and orbitals, that way it would be an amazing CC weapon.

Right now it's just a joke and meme weapon lol.

The only issue i find with the dogs breath is that it runs out of gas too fast, feels like it spends more time "reloading" than it does spraying acid around.

And i actually think the sterliser is ok-ish, definitely wouldn't mind a damage boost to it but i find it quite useful for dealing with heavy bots, it stops a hulk in its tracks and gives you time to get around its back, and i've even been able to solo hulks with just the steriliser and some circle strafing. That said, it still feels quite weak and niche compared to basically every other option.
Gas do not crack strong enough XD
But yeah, gas dog is pretty useless compare to other two.

Because the Rover does piddling damage. It's not going to keep you from getting swarmed. By contrast, the Dog Breath can bail you out when you inevitably get swarmed.

I have no idea what you mean with piddling damage, the damage is very good.

It's supplemental damage to your own weapons, but it's not enough to make a difference when a large group of bugs is surrounding you on three sides. The regular Guard Dog does a decent job at that point due to having actually really good DPS, but the Rover can only take the edge off. The Dog Breath doesn't kill bugs very fast. However, it confuses them, which means their attacks miss, which in turn means you're not eating so much damage or being under so much pressure.

If you're going to pick a Guard Dog for straight-up killing enemies, go with the regular one.

Oh, sure I agree, it kills the small ones very good tho

If you take an autocannon you can do the same and faster. The autocannon pushes hulks back now and you only need like 2 hits to the eye to kill it. It won't get near you, it can't do anything while being pushed around and the autocannon can deal with them at a much longer range. It's also effective against everything else that the sterilizer can't even scratch, like gunships, tanks, factory striders etc.

It's just bad and there's no saving grace to it aside from situations that maybe happen like once every few games like a bot drop landing right on top of you.

IMO, gas should IMMEDIATELY cause enemies to turn on each other, as well as last way longer!

That way i can see it getting more use as whole, but as it is currently, it's pretty hit and miss

No duh. That's why i said at the end of my spiel that it was niche and weak compared to every other option.

That niche doesn't exist in game though, so it's even a stretch to call it a niche weapon, it's flat out worthless and I wish it wouldn't be. At the very least it needs double or triple the impact damage it does now and leave puddles on the floor to keep the gas effect going on enemies inside. Gas also needs to cancel enemy animations so they don't come straight for you with their first attack.

As for the dog breath, if it keeps chasing one enemy then it needs to spray left and right in a 180° angle if not 360° around the target it's locked on to if the devs can't figure out how to make it's AI work to switch through targets.
