This is how everyone spread BS rumors about the DSS that got everyone's hopes up about it being a social center and for clans and yadda yadda when it was nothing more than a team killing money sink
whether its by making the audience hype it up themselves or dripfeeding info
nothing wrong with that, its on the devs to how they wanna deliver the actual thing
and its on the audience if they expected too much
so whats ur whole rant got to do with the topic....?
The devs said that it's not possible to make a minigun. You expecting to much is expecting a minigun. That's not hype, that's just low IQ
Thordan and Glitchplays don't think it's a rumor. Only a matter of time before we get an official briefing from Commander Eravin
Yeah all three of those people spread lies and missinformation about the DSS in how it'd have platoons and it's be a social hub as well
Glitchplays also have the quote from the devs themselves that say that it's not possible to have a minigun. He gets paid off your clicks and hype, why do you think he has click bait titles and other things? But I guess they said it so it must be true then. Just like all those wonderful DSS features that they also told you were happening and going to be here
What you should be doing is reading what the devs actually say and not have a guy that only quotes some of what they say and then drums up hype
Edit: I also think mechs don't need bug just let us call them infinitely no limit of 2 at least for lower difficulties
It would be. But the lead game designer himself has flat out said that it's not possible to do so, currently, not without reworking and redoing a huge chunk of how the game works
Miniguns as a carried weapon are notoriously problematic, you can see this in every video of people hip-firing a minigun - they are more or less thrown backwards by the insane recoil.
The way we would solve this is to have players be moved backwards unless they take up a steady firing position. This would probably also apply to the HMG
In addition, the backpack magazine is needed, and unfortunately - the game currently doesn't support a weapon occupying 2 slots which will have to be resolved before a minigun can be added
Yeah I'm not saying it's possible in the games coding just that I like the idea.
Perhaps alternately a single reload backpack to a high capacity mini gun with like 1000 ammo, so with backpack 2000, instead of directly linked to the pack.
To balance it while it may not be realistic to real life, neither is giving people personal nukes xD but you give it while it's pull out or even in your back at all the backpack a 20% slow down, and/or high recoil of the minigun.
The game still has broken issues from it's first major patch nearly a year ago. Instead of focusing on a mini gun how about new Strategems or helmet mods for god's sake. Its the future with FTL drive ships with massive cannons on and yet Thermal Vison and night vision don't exist, we could have those but your helmet uses a battery like Master Chief has for his Torch in Halo 1.
Technically we have a mini gun it'd called Gatling Sentry just with less barrels
Yeah it's really not worth it if it requires an overhaul for a single weapon, unless they wanted to release a slew of weapons or gear that was themed around that overhaul, they could release a non backpack version or just a reloads from backpack version like all weapons do now.
But gotta say the concept cool the time spent could be spent better elsewhere.
Maybe they just need to get more creative to fit it into the existing engine. Give it an internal magazine of 50 rounds and a reload time of 0 seconds. Then just have to make it automatically reload when it's empty and problem solved
Not sure the game sports an "auto reload" function lol because they built it around manual reloads.
But they could do that and make a reload press be near instant I guess? Or just give it a larger capacity and do the same like a quick smack and reload that is short with 500 or more rounds
Just not a direct connection to backpack. Ways to work it with pre existing mechanics for sure lol but that's up to them to decide if it ilfits the themes they want I guess
Low IQ? says the one who ignored my whole topic
am talking about the mechs, not the miniguns, thanks for side-tracking my discussion
my god, how low ur IQ can get
Maybe the title is messing people up? Lol
Mechs don't have backpacks or slots for them? But I mean in theory if you just wanted to have it look like it was attached to 1 as purely cosmetic on a mech I guess
Perhaps a language barrier even?
But from what I read it is "if there was a belt fed gattling gun. It would make mechs useless" then you made an arguement in how to buff mechs to make them have a unique playstle to compensate as desirable over a belt fed gun combo.
Thus people just countered with "there won't be a belt fed gun, cuz it's not possible" so it's not a concern even.
