Of course, being a completionist takes a lot longer, but you don't really have to get absolutely everything before you get all the stuff that interest you
The game is very friendly at handing out super credits that you won't need to buy any if you just play consistently.
Hell even if you do buy super credits, you'll still need to play to get the medals to unlock the actual content in a premium warbond and the time it takes to unlock the content is roughly the same as it would take to farm the credits to buy a new warbond to begin with.
You really don't need to buy super credits unless you desperately want to unlock something much earlier than what is generally recommended to do so anyway.
I played the (free) standard warbond and by the time I finished it I had over 3000 super credits, enough to buy me three more premium warbonds and by the time I finished those three warbonds I had again enough super credits to buy another three premium warbonds.
So technically if you just play and aren't worried about unlocking things early and don't spend unnecessary super credits in the super store. You can play indefinitely without ever needing to pay a dime more than your initial purchase price and you'll unlock everything without ever needing to worry about feeling pressured to buy.
Get at least half of that before worrying about Premium Warbonds - you will have plenty of SC by then.

The day before yesterday I bought my latest warbond and was back to 35 Super Credits. Today I am back to 455 Super Credits again. Do not grind. Just enjoy the game normally.

recoiless rifle is an answer to any question.
Do not rely on stratagems, they are fun factor.
Do not rush to 9-10 difficulty, there is a lot of braindead players.
6 if nice if you play with randoms. When you will feel comfortable that you can clear whole map solo, know all enemies, go higher.
Difficulty only give more enemies. They have same hp.
Do what you like, or you will burnout. In 250 hours I almost have everything done. I have grinded only 3 times since I've bought the game.
Supercredits are on every map, someone or you will find them eventually, they are easy to get, they give questionable options, meta is still in regular warbond. I have opened almost every warbond, and I was spending some super credits on silly fat armor, which could already gave me all warbonds, if I calculate the supercradits. Never donated.
Enjoy game, play what you want. But we for sure will be glad to see you participate in major order.
You should consider giving the performance tips from my guide a go as well.
I guess if I would get into helldivers 2 today I'd be torn between positive or negative. Seeing the pile of micro transactions in game for the first time would put me off a lot. There are no bundles or sales on old warbonds either to ease the pain and it's only going to get worse as new ones are released.
It's certainly a time to play the game and the difficulty doesn't change the damage you do or take; only how much of a standing force you'll be up against.
