i kick people who piss around at the pelican
get in the pelican you don't need to throw down a 500KG or a orbital so there is a big explosion when the pelican takes off.

i just want a jester. i don't kick players. :steamthis: is a joke.

I hear you, although while that is annoying, my new big pet peeve are the stat padders. There's an unwritten rule that the host should board the pelican first. But some hosts seem to prefer to just hang out and kill wave after wave of enemy spawns until some invisible metric is reached and then finally get on.
throwing all my gas nades, stratagems and sticking a teammate with thermite at extraction is an age old tradition and i wont be stopping it.
I support OP, although I just do what host does. If host gets in, I get in. If host doesn't, I don't. I can't tell you how often some idiot drops a 380 on extract and causes us to fail extract or all the samples get dropped, etc.

I once turned around, shot the joker in the face and got in the pelican.
Suddenly it wasn't funny anymore, based on the malding in chat.
Everyone is up for fun and games, until they're it.

I kicked a player once because he dropped a 380 and 120 on the extraction while the timer had about 15 seconds left.
No idea why he did it but since he dropped 2 stratagems right in the middle, it clearly wasn't accidental.
Thankfully, kicking a player removes ongoing stratagems.

I don't mind post-landing stratagem ♥♥♥♥-ery

if i see ppl do it
i bring orbital or eagle smoke
then drop it near extract to block their view of it before the extraction ship lands

I noticed this last night. I had to ping P-1 before people would get on it. If I'm carrying the vast majority of samples (especially supers) I'm jumping on immediately, host, or not.
I've been seeing this since at least November. I don't know where this comes from, but I see it mostly from- you guessed it- PSN players.
You used to see people just hurry to the loading gate the moment Pelican 1 drops down. Either they waited, or they didn't. Now they just run to the edge of extraction and shoot stuff forever.

I see people throwing 500kg bombs far less than I see people with extraction shyness now.

Yes, you need a big boom. No clowns for you.
One of my friends got into the ship, I was 150 meters away, with like most of the samples, my helldiver lived practically the entire mission, it didnt help that someone threw an orbital napalm, I was probably 15m away from the pelican before it took off. Safe to say i wasn't all that happy about it.
I don't wanna be the first in since idk if the team is ready to go tho!

People have been trained not to get in the Pelican by kickers.
I play max diff missions with outstanding lvl 150 players who know every square inch of the game and cut through maps like butter. And yet when it comes time to extract they all hesitate to get in the Pelican. No doubt every one of them has been kicked and lost everything by some petty host who doesn't understand that telepathy isn't real.

These days a kick means you just become your own host and can get out, but you could literally be kicked while the Pelican was flying off an lose everything. I hate that this culture still affects the game.

Once everything stops moving. It's time to board.

You gotta ping the Pelican.
I do it even if I'm not host, because sometimes people wont pay attention and will get in anyway.
I had a host start flinging thermites at me after I got into the pelican. He missed every one, but still.
I don't know what this new subculture is, but it's cancerous.

It's on the ground. Everyone is at extraction. Samples are in hand. It's time to go.

This does nothing besides put them in their own lobby with all the stats / rewards they were gonna get anyways.

Does... nothing.

Side note. If you wanna see ppl scramble to get in the pelican when it lands, set off your helbomb backpack and drop it on the ground outside the ramp, then get in.

Its what I do, and it hasn't failed once. Everyone gets right the F in, and quick. If they don't... well thats one less mentally deficient helldiver.

Yesterday I was in a match where host and I did this at the same time. Host dropped his pack and got in, but just as I was dropping mine a big explosion went off and sent us all flying. I managed to pick myself up and dive into the pelican in time, but P3 and P4 weren't as lucky. We all thought it was hilarious though.
