think a great idea for a new stratagem is a backpack that scans for nearby samples in X radius as to not be too op but also be actually helpful

In HD1 we had a drone that increased you radar range, and also showed samples.

Sounds reasonable. Lose an item slot and strategem slot to find samples. Especially at higher levels making it well worth it.

Could also be an upgrade to the UAV Recon booster. IIRC, that exact effect WAS supposed to be a Helmet-specific perk, before Helmet stats were cut from the game to save time.

UAV i've looked at before, figured as a backpack slot/full stratagem in general other than a helm perk it would be somewhat/more balanced taking a full slot

That would be interesting for a utility item, which is one of my favorite kinds in games.

This would have been a great helmet perk if it let you see them highlighted in like a 10 meter radius.
