The Coyote is the best AR in the game…
…and is how the other assault rifles should feel!

Is it noticeably stronger than the other ARs? Yes! It is! But I’d argue that this is how ALL of the assault rifles should feel, especially compared to the other options we have nowadays.

The crossbow obliterates groups of warriors in one shot and kills Alpha Commanders in 3, and can also close tons of bugholes easily. The Cookout and Incendiary have been really good for a long time now. The Eruptor finally feels powerful again. The Purifier is basically overpowered and has tons of ammo efficiency (and is amazing against the new rupture enemies). The Torcher is literally a better Flamethrower right now and can melt dozens of enemies with very good ammo economy.

None of the other ARs come close to those options, except maybe a fully customized Carbine, and only against non-durable enemies with a supply pack for ammo. We need to bump up the other rifles to be on the level of the Coyote, where it actually feels like a hard choice to choose between an AR, shotgun or special/explosive weapon. Right now the niche of killing small enemies efficiently and having accuracy at range is just pointless on higher difficulties, and the marksmen rifles are perfectly S tier on bots. The Coyote is the first AR actually competing for the primary weapon slot and it feels great to have the option for those that prefer the feel of automatic precision weapons.

It's actually not much stronger than existing ARs... Requires same amount of bullets to kill most things. TTK is roughly the same. It performs well vs bugs if you utilize the incindiary part, but most enemies die before it actually applies any damage ticks. TTK for most enemies is the same with the Liberator Penetrator. Same ammo efficiency as well. It's a pretty well balanced weapon actually. People just see 75 med pen incindiary and go "OP!", but they don't understand that it largely doesn't matter. You can kill a lot of things faster with what people consider crap light pen weapons if you know what you're doing.
As someone who is level 25 with all Liberators, 21 with Tendi and 11 with adjudicator,
that's literally was it is. It's just a really strong weapon in a category that is eh on average.
The strongest "AR" this far is the Variable and that thing is in the special category.

The problem with ARs is that they do nothing well in a game that has specialised alternatives.
Bugs? Cookout, Incen Breaker, Crossbow, Eruptor.
Bots? Diligence, Amendment, Reprimand, Purifier.
Squids? I honestly play a bunch less but Eruptor or Sickle have been my choices depending on support weapon.

ARs meanwhile are just kinda "ok" at everything. Penetrator damage is so low that you need to dump like half a mag into a Devestator chest or deal with low stopping power against bugs while just burning through ammo. The light pen assault rifles don't pass any damage thresholds (except maybe for Tenderizer being able to one tap troopers at short range in the body)

The only faction i've been using ARs is bots, but even then I constantly think "I could've wasted a lot less ammo if I just used a DMR or Purifier"
Are ARs still fun against bots? Sure. Are they good compared to the alternatives? No.

I can assure you, it does matter, this thing hits breakpoints easily due to the fire damage. It must have very high application status since a single bullet is usually enough to proc the fire, you can kill hive guards with like 2 bullets to the face. Spraying into a crowd is actually effective when your screen is full of enemies. If you’re mag dumping a single enemy until it dies you’re not using it right, but you still have the option if something gets right in your face. It hits like a truck and has a very generous magazine. The ammo economy is far superior to every other AR due to afterburn.
it most certainly doesn't out-perform most AR
BUT, it sure feels nice as ♥♥♥♥ compared to most of the other ARs
And people called the MA5C good and I longly argued it wasn't... JFC this forum sometime. This AR is perfectly fine. Not OP, but avery pleasant surprise.

That's just not true because fire damage ticks are applied after killing most enemies. Fire damage isn't applied on hit, it's set on fire then a second after they take fire damage. While most enemies can be taken down within 1 second. Well before the damage ticks. For sure you can utilize the fire damage DoT to kill enemies, which helps with ammo effciency, but that's not always what you want when enemies are in your face. The incindiary is more effective at longer ranges, but that's not what fighting bugs is about most of the time.

Besides mag dumping isn't required with most weapons. Most bugs die in 1-2 shots from most weapons. Alpha Commanders die in 9 shots from this thing, same as liberator penetrator. Takes less than a second to fire that many rounds. Or you want Alpha Commanders to summon warriors while you wait for the fire to kill them? Or wait for a bug to die while it calls a breach? The incindiary part is good, but it's not as awesome or OP as what people are making it out to be.

that is exactly how you should play coyote, same as inc breaker. one tap move on, let fire do it's thing... no matter the "range".
That's why it is good and viable, it solves alot of problems with armored targets like Hive Guards and Alphas which actually makes it a great pick for most loadouts.
I agree, it feels good. It will be nerfed so hard.

Like I said, at range that can be utilized. But when stuff gets closer you just want to deal with enemies quickly and TTK starts becoming more important. Many times you're in the thick of things and stuff just needs to die and not bleed out or burn to death. And most small bugs die in 1 or 2 hits anyway from nearly any weapon. In the end I think you may be saving a handful of bullets and killing a handful of enemies more quickly. Performance wise it's good, but it's not crazy or anything. It's nowhere near as effective as some of the other ARs or the Scorcher for instance. And in terms of setting things on fire, the cookout and the breaker incindiary still have this thing beat.

I think it's more of an all rounder, but it doesn't super excel at things. Note the low durable damage of 10 per shot. People don't often realise how important those hidden factors are.
Completely agreed but you know damn well it's going to be nerfed in like a couple of days just like what they've done with every other war bond weapon that came out and was any good to begin with. Literally. Every. Single. One.
this gun is good if you can't be bothered with aiming and even better if you do. its definitely getting nerfed. the 10 durable damage doesn't make any difference when you can proc 300 damage over 3 secs.

one of the strategies that i can employ with this weapon is just spray wildly into a crowd, not killing any, but lighting them on fire and the fire takes care of the rest. it takes very little ammo to actually proc the fire.

i main assault rifles and now i'm just gimping myself (in reference to assault rifle choice, assault rifle by itself is already a gimp) if i dont take this
Seriously for the first time there is finally an AR that feels like how I want ARs to feel in this game. I don't have to dump an entire mag to kill just one medium enemy. I really hope they don't nerf it and instead try to bump up other smgs and assault rifles to perform like it.

I just hate how they keep screwing up the weapon customization. Why the hell can't they allow us to put drum mags in weapons? Just balance it by making the cost to ergonomics and recoil much higher. But instead they just don't even allow you to modify a lot of weapons in any meaningful way.

What breakpoints? You don't kill bugs other than Hunters and Scavengers with body shots.
Do you understand how fire damage works? It goes directly to main health, not to the limb / head you're shooting.

It's pure placebo. Only thing it does is help enemies bleed out faster after their head is already gone. That and set Chargers on fire, which can finish them off.

Only time it actually helps is if the shooter can't aim or doesn't know where to aim, which I imagine is true for the overwhelming majority of the playerbase. Thus somehow a decent AR is the best thing ever even though it's not.

The best thing about it is that it has plenty of ammo.

Edit: oh, and it is objectively one of the worst guns to shoot Alpha Commanders with because it only has 10 durable damage, the lowest of all ARs in the game.

dk what the clown is for. im saying its going to get nerfed, not that i want it nerfed. its like the launch sickle. everyone used it because it simply was the best. this is even better than the launch sickle.
