Edit: For more explanation, if you destroy a non fatal body part with say 1k hp, and main had 5k hp, if you kept damaging that spot, you would be dealing damage to the main hp pool.
Explosive damage does not bypass armor and is affected by explosive resistance. This is to compensate for the fact that it can hit multiple damage zones at the same time.
Main HP armor only affects damage from damage over time unless it also has a damage zone linked directly to it. For BTs this means that it won't ever die to fire damage over time unless something has changed under the hood with the fire damage changes.
They really need to clear this up.
