Where did they announce it? I'd guess their discord.
Anyway, that's a bummer , a big one but thanks for clearing it up
How does that work?
I just dive where I want, major orders are a pointless non-event.
I'm just more annoyed that Arrowhead thinks their story is good or interesting over the huge innovation of Helldivers 1.
It was among the few games that really had 100% player control. That's rare.
No they have stated in interviews that this war will go on forever and there will never be a reset. That they have planned a storyline for the game for at least 4-5 years. That this game will not be like HD1 and just be a map painting simulator that kept resetting.
So like it or hate it, that's what we got and it's not going to change
Yeah, it's sad, HD 1 GW actually did something new, HD 2 GW just apes "scripted community events" from other live services.
Calling it a storyline is rough. Eh not as bad as Darktide getting Den Abett and not using him.
At least in this case they just simply can't make a coherent "story"
Yeah, we got innovation one one hand: The game becoming third person and larger in scale
And we got two steps back with the lazy live service.
But at least it checks out, every second patch or so is also one step forwards two steps back
