Super Earth was never going to Fall
MO-Divers keep saying that the proof is in the pudding, and look now, Super Earth did not fall to the Illuminate. If you have any understanding of how the war is going, the story would not make any sense if out of nowhere one faction that hasn't really been established suddenly warps into Super Earth and takes it out.
This would have completely cheated the player base that has been here since day one of the war.

The options that we are given only lead to preordained outcomes. That is how the developers added a new twist to old enemies or added armaments to the game.
This concept flies through people's heads and it is unbelievably silly to think that people out there are mad at players for playing their favorite faction. Not only that, in a realistic scenario, having all your forces concentrated in one spot would be strategically inept. We are talking about allowing the Bug and Automaton to gain more ground and cutting off logistical points that are needed to continue this imaginary war.

Another factor people overlook is that this is a game, and by thrusting players into situations they don't find engaging or relevant, you are limiting their experience. The result would be a player community that would probably migrate to a game where they can choose to play anything they want, instead of what a small box in the bottom right of your screen prescribes; in my situation, this means you could earn 0 medals.

Let's talk about the elephant in the room, and this is coming from someone who did participate in the defense effort. The Illuminate are not fun to fight against; add bland and uninteresting missions, and how can you blame people for not flocking to the rescue efforts?

The players denying that the story is scripted just come off as "It's Still Real To Me, Damn It!" meme. This opinion is fine, and if you are invested in the story that much, good! I'm glad that you are enjoying it. But what I find in poor taste is the berating that came with it. The endless arguing that people need to get their asses to Super Earth ASAP— for what reason, really? The planet was never going to fall for some of the reasons I already pointed out. I would have been more impressed if we had really lost the war there.

Before you furiously begin your tirade against me and bombard me with clowns, take a moment to grasp my brief overview on why this narrative is predetermined and the only choices available to you are those envisioned by the DM.

You never played Hell Divers. The squids are an extremely well established faction.

It also shows in that you think it's impossible for us to fail when we had wars fail in the first game multiple times.

Listening to you people defend your uselessness is always pathetic.

Here's the video of if it fell: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XL2gSRCZFik

They have a video for both, we could win or lose. If we had lost we'd be on a quest to establish a new HQ.

Video for both and actual content for both are two very different things.

The funny thing about that video is that if we had failed the president would've lived. Plus the choices for a new home are interesting. One of those marked locations in the video is Moradesh which is an inspired choice considering that it's destroyed *and* next to Meridia

I bought Helldivers on PS Vita, PS3, and PS4, and I have it on Steam. If you actually take a moment to understand what I said and not get triggered, the Illuminates in HD2 are the newcomers in the war. Checking your profile, it shows 17 hours in Helldivers 1; I think you have not really played HD1, let alone Helldivers 2.

Also, can you please learn how to quote?

The content for us losing would be another MO to attack some planets, like how we always do MOs. What are you looking for as "content" otherwise if a video of the planned story and knowledge of how the game does missions isn't enough?

Who gives a ♥♥♥♥ if it's railroaded or not. Just have fun and do what you enjoy. If you start taking the game to seriously, maybe take a step back and re-evaluate what's important in your life. This is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ video game.

You'all need to remember that AH has written and planned out the story for this game up to 3 years from now. They've done interviews about it and talked a bunch about how they have the storylines and everything all planned and built up

So everything will be 'on rails' but we'll always have minor variations to the course. It's just about having fun playing

If you want to control every aspect of the game than you need to play DnD with a DM that allows it. Otherwise you'll always be railroaded unless you're playing a 'cozy' sandbox game

The other video has a voice-over, which could be dismissed as a minor thing. But if we really had a choice, wouldn't both have voice-overs?

Bull.

You're incapable of reading apparently. Not surprising considering your idiotic take.

"Also, can you please learn how to quote?"
Cry harder. It's as pathetic as you are.

squids arent here to destroy Super Earth. They are not wiping us out. They are farming us like we farm Terminids. They are making humans into squids. This is why they didnt just glass Earth like they did Mars

this is why them winning was a possible outcome. All they would do is occupy until they had enough humans are get pushed out eventually

they are also trying to kill our high command the same way we killed Hive Lords

When does people finally understand that their idea of fun is not the same for everyone else?

Am I the only one who -really- wanted this to happen? I would love to have Mars renamed into "Super Mars".
