Why does this game keep bricking my PC?
This game keeps completely freezing my PC. I can't open task manager, alt-f4, nothing, and just have to do a force shut down and reboot.

Anyone else have this issue? No other game does this to me. I have a 4060 and plenty of memory so I don't know what the problem is.

That sounds like a driver issue. I'd recommend a DDU and fresh reinstall of the GPU driver.

If that doesn't fix it, I would recommend doing a verify of windows https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/use-the-system-file-checker-tool-to-repair-missing-or-corrupted-system-files-79aa86cb-ca52-166a-92a3-966e85d4094e

Thank you for the response and the tips. I am gonna just do all those things and validate the game files on Steam, hopefully the game runs a little smoother tomorrow. Much appreciated.

Could be your CPU. I had a crash or two from my temps getting way to high. Keep an eye on your CPU temps as you are playing. If they are really high try disabling the in game frame limiter (it's extremely demanding) and limiting your frames with an external program like radeon chill if you have an AMD card. That is what worked for me.

Between this and the other dudes response I have high hopes things will be much better. Thank you.
If you have a 13th or 14th gen Intel CPU then it may be the microcode issue that you need to update BIOS for. That was my problem with HD2
I've been having the same issue too. 12th generation i7 with liquid cooling so I'd imagine it isn't an overheating issue but who knows.

After taking Kcthebrewers advice I have not had my game freeze up again, just ongoing issues with server stability. But, try this and see if it helps you out.

1. Microsoft repair:
Open an elevated command prompt -

Type cmd in the Search box.

In the search results, right-click Command Prompt, and then select Run as administrator.

If you are prompted for confirmation or an administrator password, type the password, or click Allow.

In the Command Prompt window, type the following command and press Enter.

DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

Let it run until it is complete.

2. Verify integrity of game files on Steam.

3. Update/reinstall GPU driver.

Good luck.

I had this same problem and it was an issue with my CPU overheating. I ended up purchasing a really good cooling system for my cpu and it completely solved the issue. Download HWmonitor to check if this is the problem
What helped my friend was to delete the arrowhead folder found in appdata\roaming.
