arrowhead is really careful not to add good flying enemies
"asf" ?
i just want them to do something interesting. Devs kinda spec into adding these ridiculous heavy enemies. But forget that there is no practicality to deploy an aircraft carrier to kill 1 dude
The leviathan, which I'm fairly certain is what you're relating to when you used the term aircraft carrier, is kind of the pinnacle of this. Its big, durable, and can one shot, if the attack lands, which is big if. Thing is the size of a building, and yet only has one kind of weapon on it, and it can't even really use it well. Its got lackluster aim and often gets distracted shooting at civilians from the looks of it, rather than focusing on elimating Helldivers and SEAF squads before they're a threat or staying by Illuminate ground forces to provide fire support.
Really such a vehicle should have a variety of weapon systems to deal with a variety of targets, everything from automatic weapons to suppress infantry, more focused and hard hitting weapons like what they have now to engage with armor and eliminate key targets, as well perhaps more explosive ordinance to destroy infantry trying to take cover or lighter armored targets who are too mobile and too far away to hit accurately with other weapons.
Also why the thing doesn't have a shield is beyond me, Leviathans look like they'd be extremely expensive and are also massive targets, and even if it only takes moderate damage from an engagement it would still need to pulled out of the fight and have resources spent on repairs. Slapping a shield on that thing is a very obvious move to pull, and the Illuminate do this for smaller vessels, so why not the Leviathan?
This is what makes bugs fun
unlike the Illuminate they rely mostly on light infantry. The hunters and even warriors are a challenge
on the other hand automaton troops are a joke.
If they brought back some of these old units and incorporate this kind of tech in some newer ones, I think it would result in a faction that's way more interesting to fight.
