We wont lose, there is no defeat cutscene. Even if everyone stops playing they'll just tweak the numbers so 60 dudes defeat the illuminate, like what happened during the player strike last year with the bots.

Nah. Either they'll relocate in the south or they'll come up with a bs scenario to explain how, we didn't actually loose. Tbh I don't really pay attention to the main orders anymore since, they decide where the story goes without a care for players effort/interaction. MOs that don't matter, story wise, seem to be where it's at. But then, what's the point?

This. The second part I mean. My team used to care about MOs but since most of them nowadays are scripted to either loose or win without players input, we just fight wherever we want without paying attention to the MO now.

It doesn't. No matter what you do the MO is going to progress the way the devs want it to. So just chill and do something else in game if you want.
