Orbital Barrages
So this is mainly a note to newer players who find themselves using the Napalm or 380 Barrage.

It seems a lot of (especially new) players don't know the safe distance for these strategems and fairly I am fed up with people throwing a 380 20ms infront of our team when we are trying to exfil.

As a rule of thumb for a safe distance I stay AT LEAST 65-70m away from 380mm and Orbital Napalm. I have maximum ship upgrades so I am not sure how much more spread that is on players who don't have all the upgrades, but about 70m is a good distance to not get your entire team killed with your big orbitals.

60 is fine if you have all upgrades. Can even be closer.

Napalm's a bit narrower, more in line with 120mm spread. 45-50m is a good safe distance.

I'll also add to this post: walking barrage has a large spread, too. I've been teamkilled and seen teammates teamkilled by walking barrages thrown far too short quite a bit recently.

In case there's actually any new players reading this: please don't use the napalm barrage to clear bases. It's awful at that. It's good for throwing on top of breaches.

I have been absolutely smited by napalm at 55-60m quite regularly

yep, walking barrages will hit as far as 35m back from the beacon's starting point

That's without upgrades. The area without upgrades is about 10% bigger.

I usually stay around 60. Some streamer did mass testing on the hits and showed they are not really random, for instance that walking barrage seems to _always_ do a wonky one to the side and wrong direction when starting, like an awful baseball hit, so I learned to back up from that one as well.

Also many people underestimate the mitigation from diving to the ground, unless u take a direct hit u can even survive lying in the center of a HE barrage. Wouldn't recommend making it a habit tho :)

Also as stated before, I will repeat that napalm barrage is not for demolishing structures, and for bugholes I think you would have to get a direct projectile hit down a hole, if even that?

Needs to hit inside it. You may close some holes due to the volume of shells, but it's not guaranteed.

I still feel like 500kg's and GL pistol are the fastest way to clear bug nests
