I prefer bots and squids all day every day, but at least I've come around to being able to enjoy fighting the bugs instead of it being massively sucky 100% of the time.
If you check the stats, there was never going to be enough progress to hold the planet. IT wasn't going to happen.
Which is weird. When i signed off it told me eagle storm ready in estimated 4 hours. I thought it would help defending both planets under attack by illuminates since both attacks just started.
Did they delay the eagle storm by like 10 hours as well?
None of the fights / battles we win seem to matter, the more players who are on then each individual's contribution decreases as a percentage, which is what the game works on, rather than the actual number of people fighting.
alas this is helldivers, where the biggest downside of the game is the devs insistence on minimising player impact and picking the most convoluted option for what should be a brutally simple response to an ongoing issue.
we should be getting 2-03 new objective tile layout-variants per month and special-forces enemies should be on-map for a couple of days so more people get a chance to fight them, but wheres the fun in letting more people experience the content that;'s been added when you can just tug-o-war the same low-visibility planets every day with copy-paste repeat objectives and weighted-RNG enemy "formation" allocation.
I do think we should've been given a chance to contain the escapees but even then there's a good chance we would have lost it considering the MO and a lot of people's general dislike of bugdiving.
It also goes to show the devs are liars too! They made a big deal in the past when we had MO with 1-2 billion kills required and the devs said "oh we can't change the numbers on the fly" yet on this MO every planet we take over they drop the requirement by 250k each time.
Just let them get to Super Earth, see what the devs do then.
