why orbital precision strike so good?
fells like an infinite 500kg bomb, can destroy everything, and its your first offensive stratagem, i don't see tryhards using but its good as hell.

Actually it's more powerful than a 500kg

I've seen people run it mostly on bot and squid missions. Usually on objectives

It is inconsistent right now. It used to be one of the best stratagem but right now it inconsistent because of heavy health pool buff from the 60-days patch

Heavies HP increase meant you have to hit the target with OPS PROJECTILE to kill them because OPS explosion only does 1000 damage while projectile does 3500 (or 2500 can't remember)
I believe it has the same demo force as the 500kg, with a bit more damage and much less AoE. I actually prefer the OPS for killing titans (and it doesn’t feel like a total waste against chargers either) as long as Complex Stratagem Plotting isn’t in effect (+50% longer call-ins, ruins OPS). But I mainly see people running the 500kg against bugs for instant nest deletion and for a catch-all wave destroyer, essentially a less spammable but more impactful OPS that is still decent at killing titans.

I much prefer running OPS against bots and illuminate instead of the 500kg. But calling it an “infinite 500kg” just isn’t accurate lol, both are great for different reasons.

It's funny when someone calls in an orbital strike on a target then you just pull out your ultimatum and destroy said target first.
the ultimatum does the same, I prefer to bring a 380mm orbital

The "old" orbital strikes are not very good right now.

In the "pre buff" days before the 60 day plan it was the go to strategem for players who had good aim.
It was the only thing with a low enough CD that could kill bile titans and chargers consistently.

i think the devs should buff this kind of strategems not in cooldown or demage but in charges. I would like to use up to 3 precision strikes in rapid succession.
Like the eagle air strike but without the small internal cooldown after use.

otherwise there is no use for it anymore.
The 500kg can also kill almost everything that the orbital precision strike can.

health buff patch?
After the 500kg started to fail at one-shotting illuminate ships, the OPS became the go to for blitzing them.

After the 60 day plan they dont just buff the weapons but also rebalance armor and health of certain enemys.
Its easier to balance something around a higher healthpool than a lower one.

Example:
A bite Titan got killed by an orbital to the back consistently before the 60 day patch.
Now feels more like a chance that it kills a bile titan in one shot.
The Ultimatum has the same damage and also cant kill a bile titan consistently with a body shot.

The only reason this heavy enemy types feel weaker now (even though they are stronger than before) is because our weapons got far more powerfull since than.

it still kills them. You just have to place the beacon on top of the ship and not next to it.

This whole thread is dedicated to "I'm unable to aim" leading to "skill issue" arguement.

I'm on the orbital gas strike pill now. If you land the projectile right it does everything the OPS can with the added gas cloud afterwards.

I mean, except 300 direct damage vs 3500.
No reason to use it instead of 500kg that can be fired 2 times every 90(?) seconds
