I just host all my own matches now. If people join in progress than that's awesome. I'm not going to kick them unless they're legitimate trolls.
Yeah, enabling crossplay seems to fix the issue, however births the new issue of I sometimes end up an unpaid babysitter. Meaning I basically end up in a lobby with either brainless players with no clue on what they're doing, or most likely 6 year olds playing the game. As they quite literally play like if you told chat GPT to control em.
Go back to your playstation den, you infidel!
People really should stop kick others for no reason, though.
Yeah, people always say stuff like this, but very rarely get kicked--and they usually give some non-personal reason when they do (like making room for friends to join). I think if you experience this a lot, either it's because you're on console, or because of your behavior.
Nah I dont get me wrong, I dont have a console. Only PC, I'm kinda just saying it in a 'My fellow PC players' type way, without sounding like a redditor.
That is a generel issue.
And i can personally confirm that the matchmaking setting sometimes tend to reset itself or is just simply broken.
I had cases where even with the game set on private, other people joined my game somehow.
People only kick in lobby if they have it set to public by accident, or are waiting for a friend and you filled the lobby
If they put down an SOS beacon by accident then whatevevs, I avoid most sos beacons anyways
They really need to make that feature more obvious, because apparently people are too stupid to open the settings menu and fix it without wasting everyone's time
Private Games should be the default settings so that hosting becomes idiot-proof. As of right now, you have to host your own games or flip a coin hoping you don't get immediately kicked and banned.
If I get kicked (and I very rarely get kicked) without forewarning, I block the host. It's not a salt/knee-jerk reaction; they clearly have some reason they don't want to play with me, and there's nothing wrong with that. I block them so we don't have a repeat somewhere down the track. There's been maybe 3 people I've blocked for reasons not related to kicking me out of their match.
I think everyone would be a lot happier with their lobbies following the same principle.
Why would they sit and kick everyone who comes in instead of just NOT using the SOS beacon? It would save time for everyone involved.
