am I a fascist?
Recently I was reading stuff about us being brainwashed to fight for a regime just because of a game. So I wanna ask the specialists out there, a fascist would fight for:

1) Freedom of speech
So I can tell the West-China Winnie the Pooh to f**k off and leave Tibet and Taiwan alone, without being censored, lose my bank acount or being arrested.

2) Right to private property
So whatever I bought using money I earned from my labor is rightfully mine. No person or goverment can take it.

3) Right to self defense
If someone wants to take what is mine or others', or inflict harm upon my family or neighbors, I could use whatever means necessary to stop the aggression.

4) Right to economic freedom
If I want to sell wooden sculptures on my front-door, no goverment or person should stop me or ask me for permit or to pay bribes in order to have a job.

5) Right to religious practice
If I want to praise Satan, Allah, the Sun or whatever, no government or person should stop me or punish me for practicing my believes (unless I break a Natural Law).

Because chat GPT said I look more like an anarcho-captalist than a member of a collectivist group (as seen on fascists movements praising nation over individual).

Would I fight for Super Earth if my blood boils whenever I read about corruption enriching politicians? Only in a game lol.

Pilestedt's commends about brainwashing and Fascism need to be taken in context; he wasn't being serious and doesn't believe that he has brainwashed the player base - hell, they can't even get the players to attack the right spot when the send them all a message to say "Attack here to win".

The Helldivers are part of a Fascist regime, and the players wholeheartedly play along with it, because that's the game. They then turn it off and go back to their normal lives with whatever political inclinations they had before. It's important to draw a distinction between these two states.

First of all, you are an idiot if you have to ask ChatGPT for an opinion.
Second, who was telling you that you are a fascist?
In Helldivers 2, you play as a character that fights for a fascist regime. It’s a parody, and no, the IRL player is not a fascist. You just play as a character in a parody game of a fascist regime.

If it’s too hard for you to understand, you’re just an idiot who asks ChatGPT for opinions and can’t think for yourself.
Oh this again. I'm sure it will end as well as the last few times.
No one is saying you're being brainwashed into fighting for a regime.

"We asked ourselves, could we brainwash an entire community to fight for a fascist state? Would they? Would we be okay with that? And turns out, yeah, actually,"

I want to preface this by saying this statement is in the context of a video game, not a genuine observation into the mindsets of a community. The game makes absolutely no secret that it's satirical, the propaganda is palpable, the idea of managed democracy, the throwing bodies and blood towards hellfire for the "future of democracy", yet the game has fostered a community that openly displays themselves as supportive even if it's satirical.

AH has successfully satirised a fascist militaristic propaganda filled authoritarian state (Super Earth) and the community is "Patriotic" and is "behind it", even if the community understands the satirical nature (I hope they do, though Reddit kinda breeds weird people), the fact that there's even a hint of a patriotism is interesting in and of itself. Its a sterile environment where a community has come together to satirically support a fascist state, no wonder the UN is interested in the game.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Well, it depends on who you ask.

To me, a Classical Liberal who leans very much libertarian, these traits make you the opposite of a fascist. But that's only because I know the term and understand it correctly.

To Europeans, from people like Pilestadt and especially his CM's to the MP's of the European Union itself; well, the fact is they don't actually know the difference between fascism, communism, and socialism; they can barely define the terms. Basically, they think it's about "right wing" vs. "left wing," and that anything to the "right" of their globalist, socialist utopia is therefore "fascist." That includes any notion of individuality, nationalism, or Free Markets.

So the answer is yes, to the devs of HD2, you are a fascist.

And they're woke idiots.

The Helldivers aren't Terminids, so they can't be fascists. They fight fascism and spread democracy.

Yes, now can we talk about what really matters? Why do the little landmine plants just slow me down a little if I'm on foot, but send an FRV full of 4 dudes in heavy armor into orbit? Why do the smoke plants throw me on foot but completely not affect the FRV?

Why does Pilestedt keep trying to use rational justification for ignoring the Rule of Cool while this sort of nonsense is rampant in this game?
you are what you eat I guess

I eat like cereal and sometimes oatmeal

I tried mixing whey protein into oatmeal it's not too bad actually

mmm... oatmeal...

It's a game, we know it, they know it.
No one actually thinks we are facis~ okay no SANE person thinks we are.
it's very obvious that this is a campy jab at totalitarian dystopias... lets all just laugh and play the part, it's a game... again... it's a game =D

Yes, a fascist would. That's the thing people don't understand. Fascists fight for any number of things, and the people who lead fascists always run on populist movements that the common man supports on the surface. It's not like fascists tend to just have their propaganda say things like "we're gonna destroy worker's rights and send kids to the mines" and "we're gonna take away all your freedoms". Nah of course not, they lie all the time nonstop, 100% of the fascists in the world right now are up on some "promoting freedom" nonsense while they disappear dissenters and lock people up.
You sound like a Lolbertarian.

Fascism is the collusion between state and private enterprise - t. Giovanni gentile.
Unironically, Arrowhead framing this entire game as a psyop on the playerbase then doing a presentation on it at the UN (Or was it the EU? same ♥♥♥♥, tbh) is unironically fascistic, orwellian, and all those words that get bandied around.

I have loved playing Helldivers 2, but after this, I wouldn't buy another Arrowhead product, because I don't like being used as a guinea pig to attempt to prove some weird globalist's hypothesis of "fascist indoctrination" while they are functionally enacting fascism as defined by the people who don't just use it as a buzzword - the above named Giovanni Gentile.
