The Helldivers are part of a Fascist regime, and the players wholeheartedly play along with it, because that's the game. They then turn it off and go back to their normal lives with whatever political inclinations they had before. It's important to draw a distinction between these two states.
Second, who was telling you that you are a fascist?
In Helldivers 2, you play as a character that fights for a fascist regime. It’s a parody, and no, the IRL player is not a fascist. You just play as a character in a parody game of a fascist regime.
If it’s too hard for you to understand, you’re just an idiot who asks ChatGPT for opinions and can’t think for yourself.
"We asked ourselves, could we brainwash an entire community to fight for a fascist state? Would they? Would we be okay with that? And turns out, yeah, actually,"
I want to preface this by saying this statement is in the context of a video game, not a genuine observation into the mindsets of a community. The game makes absolutely no secret that it's satirical, the propaganda is palpable, the idea of managed democracy, the throwing bodies and blood towards hellfire for the "future of democracy", yet the game has fostered a community that openly displays themselves as supportive even if it's satirical.
AH has successfully satirised a fascist militaristic propaganda filled authoritarian state (Super Earth) and the community is "Patriotic" and is "behind it", even if the community understands the satirical nature (I hope they do, though Reddit kinda breeds weird people), the fact that there's even a hint of a patriotism is interesting in and of itself. Its a sterile environment where a community has come together to satirically support a fascist state, no wonder the UN is interested in the game.
well its 2025 you cant say anything without someone beeing mad about it, its so so so stupid that people were accutaly offended from what he said.
please dont ever show those people star ship troopers
Well, it depends on who you ask.
To me, a Classical Liberal who leans very much libertarian, these traits make you the opposite of a fascist. But that's only because I know the term and understand it correctly.
To Europeans, from people like Pilestadt and especially his CM's to the MP's of the European Union itself; well, the fact is they don't actually know the difference between fascism, communism, and socialism; they can barely define the terms. Basically, they think it's about "right wing" vs. "left wing," and that anything to the "right" of their globalist, socialist utopia is therefore "fascist." That includes any notion of individuality, nationalism, or Free Markets.
So the answer is yes, to the devs of HD2, you are a fascist.
And they're woke idiots.
The Helldivers aren't Terminids, so they can't be fascists. They fight fascism and spread democracy.
Why does Pilestedt keep trying to use rational justification for ignoring the Rule of Cool while this sort of nonsense is rampant in this game?
I eat like cereal and sometimes oatmeal
I tried mixing whey protein into oatmeal it's not too bad actually
mmm... oatmeal...
No one actually thinks we are facis~ okay no SANE person thinks we are.
it's very obvious that this is a campy jab at totalitarian dystopias... lets all just laugh and play the part, it's a game... again... it's a game =D
Unironically, Arrowhead framing this entire game as a psyop on the playerbase then doing a presentation on it at the UN (Or was it the EU? same ♥♥♥♥, tbh) is unironically fascistic, orwellian, and all those words that get bandied around.
I have loved playing Helldivers 2, but after this, I wouldn't buy another Arrowhead product, because I don't like being used as a guinea pig to attempt to prove some weird globalist's hypothesis of "fascist indoctrination" while they are functionally enacting fascism as defined by the people who don't just use it as a buzzword - the above named Giovanni Gentile.
