Kinda good with explosive primaries or ballistic shield. Not so good on bug front tho.
?
But... yeah, I'll choose senator over talon personally.
Wrong, it has much better rate of fire and essentially no recoil and you don't waste time on reloading it.
This combined with using Eruptor or any bulky primary or support weapon allows the use of peak physique armor making these weapons much more convenient to use.
Currently the "banana" is easily one of the best overall secondaries in the game.
(when used in proper configuration obviously)
Now the Talon is a sidegrade / upgrade to the Verdict depending on preferences and what you're fighting. It has infinite ammo if used in bursts or fired slowly, more burst damage and a very nice red dot scope, but it has less sustained firepower and less durable damage.
It has some better breakpoints compared to the Verdict, but nothing significant enough to make it a straight upgrade.
Talon also has no damage fall-off, no bullet drop and has much higher muzzle velocity due to being a laser weapon, which means that it will always hit its breakpoints, while the Senator and Verdict will often lose breakpoints past close range and are generally harder to aim.
Rate of fire so what? Senator destroys everything with 1 or 2 shots, 3 for hulks. And recoil is zero anyway
It's only 6 if you fire it really fast. If you space out your shots at all you can get that number up.
Why claim that Senator recoil is zero? surely you know it's 43 which is quite significant.
The ability to kill hulks in the eye is of course handy when you don't have your support weapon available but those times are few and far between.
Senator is easily one of the best sidearms don't get me wrong but Talon has it's advantages and is better in certain scenarios.
Let's break it down by sacrificing a tier of penetration and some durable damage you essentially get
- over double the muzzle velocity
- no bullet drop or drag
- infinite ammo with no need to reload if used sparingly
- over triple rof in case you need to unload
- essentially no recoil which helps with repeat shots and when unloading rapidly
This is in many scenariors a rather appealing deal.
