edit: here is to hoping we get an upgrade to launch strategems from vehicles. old mechs even had a launch tube bolted to the side for them.
Malice, pure and utter malice directed against you personally. Matter of fact, the Devs come together every monday morning, after their Community Manager collected threads like these to laugh evilly about the plight of the playerbase.
What the ♥♥♥♥ Malice means? apparently it means "desire to cause pain, injury, or distress to another" firstly, Who the ♥♥♥♥ are you? Secondly, What the ♥♥♥♥ are you talking about. Thirdly, Did you take your meds?
Sounds like you found a good definition.
Technically that is your 2nd question already. And hi, i am Ishan451. Nice to meet you.
You asked a silly question, and i provided you with an answer you were most likely looking for. Or what did you think we could say here?
I assume you are smart enough to know that the answer to "why can't you upgrade exosuits via ship modules" is "because they haven't added it to the game yet"... so you are looking for a reasoning as to why it wasn't added.
Which leads us to the next portion that i am sure you are smart enough to know that the reason it wasn't added is because they haven't gotten around to it yet. Time and money being finite and all that, which means other priorities on dev time exists.
But since you likely are aware that the Devs can't just wave a magic wand and make everything happen, but need to spend actual working time coding, which takes a long time, that is probably not the answer you were looking for either.
So that leaves us with you being here to gripe and that means you likely were looking for someone to tell you that the reason its not in the game is ill intend by the Devs.
And that is the answer i provided you with.
You confirming that you were looking for an argument by this type of response to what clearly was a very sarcastic reply, kind of vindicates my position, i think.
I am not on any meds. Though i am a bit tipsy given that it's been new years here and i am in a good mood.
But thank you for asking and your concern. It is appreciated.
Edit:
Evidently, i do not mean that. Especially since i am doing plenty of critiquing of AH practices myself.
Also, i like the confidence with which you decided that i am a "he".
No, no, you are mistaken, you should like the confidence in how much I do not care about whether you, me or anyone else around here is "he", "she" or whatever else. But thank you regardless.
But yeah, I apologise, I only met you three-or-so times and always it was full-attack mode on someone who suggested the game maybe could do something differently. In this case, I fdo get your reasoning, on the other hand, when were the suits added? Definitely more than a half year, off the top off my head, and only real upgrade or rebalancing was paid skins. You can see how that can feel a bit wrong to many people. I was patient with HD1, but we are no longer dealing with this tiny indie company, but a multimilion dollar corporation, they kind of should do better. Or faster. Ideally both.
I've never been in "full-attack mode". I make it a point not to post when i am emotionally invested in a subject.
I am irreverent, when i do not believe a question or suggestion is placed in good faith. As it is the case here. I can't speak to the other instances you noticed me, so i can't tell you what my opinion of those would have been.
But in general it isn't because someone makes an suggestion, but rather that i think its a bad suggestion for change. And i am not supportive of the idea of change for the sake of change. I've seen good games die because of that.
When were weapons added and why is there no weapon customization yet, despite the fact that it's been datamined to be worked on since release? We know what they are working on, and maybe it includes Mech customization.. maybe it doesn't. But we know they seem to be working on weapon customization based on the datamines.
And if i would have the choice to choose between Mechs, that are a meme to use, and general weapon customization, that everyone would use... i sure know where to put that dev time.
And in the same time they added a bunch of new enemies, all with new interactions and animations, worked on bug fixing and added new gameplay mechanics. All the custom scenarios we have had. All of which taking Dev time.
If i can decide between the "Creature guy/team" working on adding Shriekers, Gunboats, Illuminates and whatnot.. and working on the Mechs to have upgrades visually represented on these... you know.. i kind of prefer all that other stuff to them working on Mechs. And that is coming from someone that really loved Mecha games.
Nope, i can't. Because i am seeing all the other stuff that got added since release and i am not talking about Warbonds. All the free stuff. The new Biomes, the new objective locations, the new missions. Not even counting all the special event stuff, like the Termicide map, which they redid 3 times, just for a single weekend worths of MO.
And sure, those were the map guys and not the Animation and Creature designers, but it is hard to be upset when they clearly have been adding a lot of stuff to the game. Much more so than pretty much any other game i have seen, sans those that release full blown expansions.
The game isn't even out for a year yet. You have some seriously overblown expectations.
We've been getting something new to play with on an monthly basis since their release. And that is in addition to them reworking the entire backbone of the game while the game was up and running.
Could be about where you wiev it from, but OP asked a pretty normal question, normally phrased too and your response was not only a personal attack, but also making it sound as if upgrades to mechs is something completely ridiculous.
Which is... okay? I would not phrase it as "Did you take your pills?", but, you know, overkill and for no reason at that, yes...
As for the rest, the thing is, noone asked for mech customisation, but an upgrade. Like the rest of the strategems get. The problems is, as it stands, except for extremely rare situations, mechs are something you use purely for fun, but realistically, ANY other strategem will be more efficient to take, as they have the wombo-combo of having extremely limited use count, extreme cooldown and mid-to-low usefullness when in game. If the core strategem will not be updated, then asking for being able to upgrade it's armor or ammo reserve through research is not this crazy out there idea.
As for the speed I'll repeat, this is no longer the cute and small indie studio it once was. It's a large company backed by huge international corporation, recently releasing one of the bigger games in the corporations's repertoire. They can do better than small indie studio. They barely do tho, outside of flamboyant marketing.
Have someone get near a ledge you can walk onto the roof or use a jump pack.
I swear that was actually a feature in helldivers 1, with a machinegun and everything. Been a long time since I played it though.
Mechs in general seem to be pale imitation compared to what they were in HD1. So many missing features.
