Game now fully freezes my PC.

Performance has been up and down for me since launch, but is now worst for me than ever. I can't go 30 seconds before getting a full game and PC freeze, once it starts it will freeze for 5 seconds and then unfreeze and repeat every 5 seconds until I restart the game. CPU utilisation goes to 100% and GPU goes to 0%.
Frame-rate has always been unreliable, bouncing consistently between 70 and 25 fps since launch. (Ryzen 9 3900x, 4070ti, 32gb, win11,

Now it idles at 40 and goes to 1fps on a freeze. I play a lot of games and Helldivers is the only one that I get this issue with, everything else runs flawlessly. I have tried a full uninstall reinstall, verified file integrity, updated drivers, the works. I've been building, repairing and playing on PCs for a decade but I'm obviously missing something here and haven't seen anything like it before, anyone have any bright ideas? Would love to be able to dive into hell once more. TIA

Managed to find any fix? Helldivers causes my pc to freeze at random times during missions and I'm getting ready to quit this damn game if I can't fix this. Never had this issue months ago when I first played but now this game is completely unstable after coming back.

Afraid not, my performance is still in the shidder, I did a full clean uninstall, including appdata and everything, that seemed to help the most but is still kinda unplayable for me.

I tried a fix that SO FAR seems to be working. I played multiple times today with no instances of my pc freezing up anymore, forcing me to hard reset everything. I put this command in the launch options for the game to use dx11.

--use-d3d11

Worth a shot.

Ahh, I've used dx11 almost since release, even after reinstall, devs aren't sure what it is but maybe I just need to replace my CPU, the game is so CPU intensive that even with a 4070ti I only get 40 - 25 fps, along with the whole host of other issues.

Have you bothered cleaning your fans and all that stuff? Checked the thermal paste? Ran any other stresstest at all?

At best, its just some software being hanky, at worst, you have faulty hardware.

Yeah, I thought it was hardware, so stripped everything down, but all seems ok. Every other game I have runs perfectly too, path-traced cyberpunk and anything else I can throw at it. I might just have to take the L for now.

Try a different driver perhaps, also check the game is not optimised under the nvidia control panel with odd settings such as power saving or half refresh rate etc.

I have a intel i5 10400F with an Nvidia 3060 12GB and run at 1080p most settings arre high or ultra i get about 77fps walking around and about 55-60 during battles, native rendering no scaling

I am using older drivers Nvidia 551.61 (from about Feb 2024), also I only install the Nvidia drivers and control panel none of the other stuff
