Lone wolf seeking load out advice
I die more often when playing with people then i do from the enemy, so even if im in a full group i tend to run off, and i do pretty well for myself. alot of the times i end up completing most of the main objectives or i go around and collect most of the samples on my own.

For that matter i HAVE to have a load out thats well rounded...

Bots

Armor: Light armor that gives me 30% buff to stealth
Primary: Crossbow
Sidearm: Medium Pen semi auto pistol
Grenade: Thermite
S1: AM rifle
S2: B1 ammo
S3: Gun Strafe
S4: Walking barrage

Bugs

Armor: Medium Armor with extra grenades
Primary: 200 dmg medium pen marksman
Sidearm: Grenade pistol
Grenade: Fire Contact (might change this to stun though)
S1: Q cannon
S2: Jump pack
S3: Gun Strafe
S4: Napalm Orbital

Both of these im pretty happy with and i dont feel like i need to change, i rely on stealth or if the enemy is too large in an objective i use the orbitals to clear them out.

what i DO need help with is, the Squids

Squids

Armor: Medium armor with 100% increase to melee damage
Primary: Crossbow
Sidearm: Stun Lance
Grenade: Fire Contact
S1: Shield Wall
S2: Stalwart
S3: EAT
S4: 500KG

This setup is what ive been using most effectively, i can clear walkers AND Bases with this. Problem is im already using Crossbow on my bot build and i want to use something different, and I WANT to use the stun Spear so i cant grab a secondary explosive (and even if i did im also already using that on the bug build) and i want to use an LMG which helps alot when im getting swarmed by the voteless too much or i need to break shields. the other problem is, is i have to drop the stalwart to pick up the EAT to take down a walker and sometimes its impossible to pick it back up without getting killed.

so any ideas or tips from you all would be nice, let me know.

Run the MMG instead of the stalwart. Then you can ditch the EATs because the MMG can easily shred everything on the Illuminate front.

I'd also highly recommend the gas grenades, the kill voteless and blind any ranged enemy while damaging them.

I personally run only the Jump Pack and pick up an MG somewhere, they're everywhere on city maps.

I like gas strike. Good crowd control and if you stick it to the roof, destroys outposts.

HMG is very effective, once you know to target the leg joints it downs harvesters very quickly.

For primaries, Scorcher or adjudicator work well.

Ballistic guard dog is a headshot machine and clears voteless very well, and helps against overseers.

Been bringing the AT emplacement to round things out.

Which diff are you playing? Might easier to optimize knowing that

hmm ive def seen the gas used alot against the voteless, good call on that! ill pick it up

i just tried the eruptor and it seems to be able to handle the striders and the landed ships pretty well but im not 100% certain that was because of me or some one else at the time.

as for the scorcher, i did forget about that!

im honestly hoping to go one handed with an SMG though, hmm maybe no LMG perhaps

overshield backpack, laser beam cannon, lightning shotgun, spear, high explosive grenade, 380 & fire bombardments, expirmental stims.
any heavy armor that provides bonus stims, or makes you throw further, it doesnt really matter though, i tend to just go max armor.
dont stand and fight out in he open, pull enemies around cliffs and into basins to cut off their line of sight, dont let the laser cannon overheat while you obliterate enemy high priority targets (ranged fast movers) mosty just run into cover, if melee gets close lightning shotgun, the spear is for worst case scenario, but, sine but down need reloading and can be "fired" over and over again, literally just hold fire down, you can use either one.
but remember, dont stand still, get close to an enemy base or whatever and open up the sky with your mombardments and then run away. unless you are doing a blitz or defense then this loadout sucks.
good luck helldiver

Honestly, best weapon overall feels like granade launcher and LMG. But both of them take slot to take down harvester.
I would suggest, trying this:
Shield.
Quasar.
Any fast shooting rifle to grin down harversters shield. And flow it with quasar.
Quasar fixes your EAT problem, but removes LMG.

Unfortunatly, I love the turrets, but rocket and autocanon succ ass.

Most comfortable was:
Granade launcher
Ammo box.
big firerate rifle.

Granade launcher annihiltes both voteless and elevated. But if you're comfortable with dealing with harvesters with stratagems, well you can pick what you like, there is 2 more slots.

Problem with spear is that, it is way more powerfull vs bugs, than vs voteless. Yes spear stunlock the mace holders, and you can kill them, but you usually not 1v1 it. You don't have time for so much pokes standing, elevated and voteless will crumble you.
Also when voteless overrun you, spear succ ass to hit thoce who strike from sides, you really need secured corridor. (Hello greek phalanx issues)

Realisticly speaking, blitz and tesla rifle is way too slow and too often nothing happens after your shots, even with upgraded electric jumps amount.

Problem is that we need to kill regular mobs with support weapon, instead of primary.
The only comfortable weapon to kill voteless masses and well as illuminati are GL and machine guns.

I really like new sniper rifle on bugs, and spear. Honestly spear wreck everything on bugs except for el mosco, but I will try kek. If you have shield, you can even block spewers. And just stunlock them.

Bots are easily done with AMR + ammo, or Laser canon. Impact or thermite. \ precision to deal with tanks.
AMR and laser takes down ATAT in belly. Or just grab shield dome + autocanon turret, it shreads everything.

We partially can solve problem by redirecting horde on turrets, but this makes us stratagem dependant, same as killing collectors with nukes and other bombs.

I would say that manned turrets (both) doing pretty awersome job, but require cover.
There is one ♥♥♥♥♥♥ thing I can imagine.
Is get antishock armor, throw tesla, throw manned turret close. So tesla protect your ass and do not kill, meanwhile you can take down elevated and collectors..but again, cooldown dependant..

I think It will bring me back to AMR, cause Laser gun is way too slow damage vs everything on squids.
Then again AMR require ammo + assault rifle to take down shields.
So we end up with same loadout again and again.

For Illuminates, I solo'd Super Helldive campaign using

Crossbow (you aint gonna find much better. 2 shots overseers, can also 2 shot entire groups of overseers)

Bushwacker. This wasnt really important just a backup.

Throwing Knife XD for the hell of it lol Seeing as you blow yourself up with Crossbow when Overseers get too close.

Hand Shield is nice I guess for blocking Harvester beams. Or Guard Dog Rover for the Evacuation mission. Neither are that important as Light Armor as you can just run around in circles with Illuminates as they are too slow and terrible aim.

Airburst Strike is fantastic for hoards and when the drop ships arrive.

Laser Orbital, save this for the MOs and only use when 2 or more Harvesters turn up.

and then whatever takes your fancy.

alot of you all are missing the point here haha so im assuming you didnt read through everything.

regardless i settled on SMG primary, no LMG, commando, shield wall, 500kg (might replace with orbital cannon shot maybe) and rotating between mines, walker, and turrets for last slot just to keep things interesting.

the gas grenade was a good call though, i liked tossing them into groups or areas where more are about to drop and wattching as the kill count ticks up haha

Try the AR Guard Dog. That and the Scorcher is all you need. If you blow up ships with Orbital Precision Strike, that suffices. Anything else is extra considering you can pick up EATs on all the urban maps.

I have no imagination...I just run Street Scout armor with Xbow and Senator with Stun grenade alongside RR regardless of enemy faction.

Remaining three slots are usually 500kg and some variety of turrets.
Copenboro Dec 20, 2024 @ 7:05am
If you can reliably aim the crossbow and hit the flying dudes, its like 2 shots for most of them, 2 shots even through the shield guys block + the AOE damage smacks the horde under them fairly well. its like 3 or 4 to drop the Walker shields? pop a precision or whatever n scoot.
I found the gat/mg turrets have been nice just to keep the pests out for a lil breather or a break contact move.
Surprised I brought sticks (stun baton)and stones to fight aliens that warp into our atmosphere lol

my go to loadout for the squid that work at all difficulty , solo , in team and that can deal with everything :

primary : sickle ( infinite ammo if used well , can scope up to 100m with very accurate shot , damage is fine for its rate of fire. great at destroying shield too or shooting weak point / headshot / jet pack

secondary : grenade pistol : good to clear outpost ( break shield then shoot one in the door of ship to destroy them ) can be use to clear a horde of voteless or kill the overseer

grenade : i love the impact fire grenade for the squid , it clear the voteless quickly and can be also use to kill the grounded overseer

stratagem 1 : jetpack , mobility is key to survival and fast travel , access to strategic positioning too

stratagem 2 : m machine gun : its your bread and butter. with that you can kill overseer ( ground and flying ) super quickly , you can clear horde easily too and kill the walker super fast if you aim at the weakpoint on their shoulder.

stratagem 3 : orbital lazer : it can clear outpost super fast and easy or if you are in trouble it could kill a lots of strong enemy fast

stratagem 4 : its your wild card , i tend to use a turret like the machine gun turret for when im busy with objective and i dont want some enemy jumping on me while im on the computer or if i need a bit of space or safety. why the normal machine gun ? because of the very low cooldown , accuracy and ease of use.

for armor either go with the medium Arc protection armor ( so you can stay near walker and arc tower ) or go for a medium armor that give 30% less recoil when prone for more accuracy with the machine gun
