You will over time learn how to adjust to them, how to position yourself, how to take them down efficiently, what to prioritize and when to move as well as where to move against them. your time-to-kill and time to clear rates will also become tighter as you practice taking them down more efficiently. Over time you will adjust and be back to handling them without thinking, same as we did encountering the bugs and bots the first time.
I dont know about shadow whatsit or not, sounds made up because Blitzer and the laser cannon are still doing great against them as of today.
This is the practice period with their scout force. The tripod is just the basic heavy unit like the hulk or charger. We have yet to see the other heavy units, their flyers and elite enemy types.
Also, Harvesters are easy to take down with the right approach. Rapid-fire weapons (this can be done just fine with your primary if need be) to take down the shields, then aim for the joint between the leg and body. Saw it off with a medium+ penetrating weapon like the MG43, HMG or laser cannon, or land one rocket there, and it's good night well before the shields have any hope of regenerating.
Overseers have 1) Medium armored heads, so of course the new SMG struggles with them, and 2) Ablative armor on the rest of their bodies, which only transfers 20% of the damage to the body, so if you spray all over them and just break armor pieces left and right but don't hit flesh, of course you'll take forever to kill one.
You could also consider the humble Eagle strafing run. Five charges, comes out very quickly when called, easy combination for the call-in, mows down zombies and overseers caught in the line and drops Harvester shields on the spot for a follow-up. Orbital gas is also very quick on the CD and completely ruins swarms of zombies, securing your back from them. Can also run gas/incendiary/incendiary impact grenades to utterly mop up the zombie hordes.
- harvester die to medium pen when shot at the joint point of the legs
- dont shoot at the main body or eye of the harvester it will take ages to take it out.
- overseer die easily through fire, as it bypasses the armor
1. Dive down to mow down zombies
2. Run into a zombie while shooting at the zombies behind you.
3. Pull out my spear and kill them all
4. Kill the elevated overseer that can't aim
5. See a harvester
6. Sneeze at the harvester to kill it
7. Get shot to death by my team
8. Drop in
and repeat these steps
So far Super Helldive Illuminate missions feel too easy; don't die nearly as much as I do with the bots or bugs, and only lost one- maybe two missions. And one was because it was a Super Helldive civie evac with only two of us
Use the MG43 to fix the skill issue
Lots of ways to take these guys down.
