They literally hired a guy with ideals to make money lmao.
I guess we just have to wait and see. If the Killzone items are really FOMO bait and/or if future collaboration items are priced similarly I won't be very happy. Not that my feelings or the feelings of the players matter anymore, they've been tread on so many times now and while things do get fixed eventually it's tiring constantly worrying about this game's future.
Yeah, technically I guess that's true, but I spend more than that on lunch most days.
And you aren't going to 'miss out' you'd just need some patience if you can't get it over the next five days. There are plenty of armors in the shop that I've put off for multiple cycles just because they weren't really worth it to me at the time. It's not a big deal.
Honestly, I can't imagine a scenario when I'd buy the crossover items. The armor is a little tempting, but I know I'd never use it instead of my +2 grenade armor or extra padding, and the AR is barely better than the default AR. I've got the Tenderizer, I'd never use the StA-52 as it's a straight downgrade.
As it stands, I would be embarrassed to be caught using the Killzone collab content because of its association with greedy mtx. Before this collab debacle, Arrowhead had kept the monetization relatively modest in Helldivers 2.
If I were Arrowhead I'd pull the superstore collab content and go with a warbond release instead. Anyone who bought the whole thing would get the warbond for free with those items unlocked. Anyone who bought the items in part would get their SC refunded.
paradox are well known for monetisation
I worked yesterday, today, and the next 4 days up to Christmas eve mate. I dodn't have time to gring nothing. THAT is FOMO. Wasn't announced ahead of time, wasn't this or that. Dropped, told us less than a week, etc. THAT is ♥♥♥♥♥♥ business practice. Don't forget, a LOT of us have to work, a LOT.
All I'm gonna say is that to say 'oh all you need is patience cause eventually its gonna come back again' is braindead in multiple ways
1. Then they could dangle a carrot on a stick by saying that in some indefinite point in the future that it's going to come back (trust me bro) which could be any inordinate amount of time.
2. To respond to a complaint of FOMO with saying you need 'patience' doesn't work when you consider instances such as games with limited time items and/or battlepass items that do not return/or return months/years later unannounced (again for a limited time and likely to be another long period for which it would be unobtainable). Should people have the patience for the limited time to run out so they can have they patience to wait until it's available again? What's the point being made here?
3. Tangetially related, but why is it that everyone I see tries to constantly downplay the issue instead of directly addressing it? Saying "it doesn't matter that much" and then missing the point isn't a very good argument.
