Thoughts on the new mech
it's even more of a mobile-weapon platform than the first mech.

It doesn an "ok" type of job, but it doesn't have all of that use, and for having Autocannons, it takes a while to chew through armor.

It's the type of mech that clocks in at work, does it's job and dares you to ask to do anything more.

It needs at least 100 shots, and a bit more damage to be fully viable.

BONUS : while i am on the topic of Mechs, is it just me or they should at least be bulletproof? Getting damaged from cannons and missiles i'd understand, but bullets? They seem really squishy for the hitbox that they have.

Meh, not great, not terrible, no mech main build like ikn HD1 were you could go full mech so, no fun allowed.

People wasted their time unlocking a meh stratagem.

it is meh and you can't bring 2 mech at the same time. they are all pre nerf by Alexus the ruiner of fun

It works fine, friendo:
  1. On the strategem screen, pick the first strategem as one of the exosuit choices
  2. Pick the second strategem as anything else I.E orbital precision strike
  3. Click the second strategem to change it
  4. Change it to the other exosuit to the one you picked for your first strategem
  5. You should now have both equipped at once in strategem slot 1 and 2
Doesn't change the fact that still meh.

I think it does ok for what it's designed for, which is medium enemies and clearing nests and fabs.

What people want is the Ant-tank + flamethrower mech.

My problem with this new one is that it has realllyyy low ammo, and you can only bring one type of mech. HD1 mechs were simply better, and you could bring all 3 at once and use them the entire mission.
Meh. No real reason to take it.

I believe heavy armor builds might enjoy a mech as an option. Its mobility after the ammo runs out, can make things relaxing when moving point to point. Is it ideal? not particularly.

Yeah, the squishyness is probably what keeps me from using it more but the new mech is allright, nothing to write home about really. I did take the opportuniy to put on a jetpack and ride on top of the mech of other divers, which was actually pretty fun and it makes me wish there was a sort of "chariot" mech without having to balance your footing as I did on this one.

Just as bad as the previous one. Arrowhead haven't addressed the aim issues - the Mech won't shoot where you aim and the circle doesn't represent where it's aiming. The Mech also has nothing for gun depression, meaning you can't even shoot down from a ledge. The cannons do decent damage and penetration, but with SEVERE damage loss against durable parts. Bile Titans are particularly problematic, as they have armour level 5 everywhere and 100% durability. Means your 600-impact-damage cannon is dealing 30 damage to them per hit.

I genuinely don't know what this Mech is for. It's clearly not designed to take out large targets since its durable damage is 10% of base, like every other small arm. It's not designed to deal with hordes of smaller enemies as its AoE range is very short and its ammo prohibitively limited for that. The only real use it seems to have is medium enemies and maybe the lower-range of large enemies - Chargers and Hulks. 5 penetration is enough to damage both through their main armour and they don't have AS much Durability as the Bile Titan.

It's also worth pointing out that this mech does not benefit in any way from the "double trigger" system that Arrowhead keep trying to use for Mechs. It has two of the same weapon. It's functionally irrelevant which weapon you fire. They're both the same. As a result, you have all the limitations of the double trigger system (inability to aim/zoom, inability to switch shoulders) with none of the benefits of actually having two weapons. And even with the other Mech, it would be easier to let me switch weapons and aim, than to map a fire button to my aim button.

They're just too squishy to be worth using imo.

Anything that you'd want to use those Autocannons on could literally wreck the Exo just as fast, and the fact that they even take damage from small bullets or tiny bug scratches is just...ridiculous.

It needs a way to aim up and down. Otherwise I like it. Just cleared a complete bot mission with it.

if you got it from a mod, then know its armor pen is severely bumped up from when we will get it, by a factor of if it takes 2 shots to kill a bile titan when you modded it in, it will take us 25 to 30 shots to kill a bile titan when we get it non modded. that will make the mech crap as for some reason it uses the man portable damage of the AC rather than the Turreted strat version.
