Default HD2 armor variety
Every HD2 player has 4 default helldiver armor variants. All of them have extra padding perk (+50 armor). The thing that makes them different from each other is yellow marks on helmet and body armor.
So, i think it would be cool to have all these armor sets have different perks.
WHY?
:empireskull: It'd encourage people to use this armor and look like a squad of helldivers. Just a sense of being a real part of team. Plus it's a banner armor of the game;
:empireskull: New players would get early on check on armor perks;
:empireskull: Players who don't have much time to play the game, can use armor with perks they like, further unlock other armor type they'd like;
:empireskull: Gives some roleplay variety;
:empireskull: Efficient fashion.
My take for armor perks:
1. Extra padding
2. Engineer kit
3. Med kit
4. Scout
So, in theory, it makes every player get his role, in case they all wear default armor set.
What's your opinion about default armor?

Pretty sure there was a post by the ex-CEO about how armor looks the way it does because of how it functions, and that's why they're against cosmetic armors. On the one hand, though I feel like I'm a minority, I wholeheartedly agree with this sentiment. Form dictates function. Armor should look a certain way because of what it does.

On the other hand, I think this kind of went out the window with polar patriots. If they truly want to stand by that philosophy, the snowy armor should have snowy perks. The gas-mask helmets should actually protect you from gas. Etc.

I actually really like the idea of specialized armor for silly squad-based cheese. Everyone taking a gas-mask and gas strategems, and just gassing everything sounds like it would be really fun. Everyone taking the lightning resist armors, and taking tesla turrents, arc launchers and blitzers sounds like it'd be great. One arc launcher is (more than) a little lack-luster, but can do chip damage to everything; I'm convinced if I could coordinate a squad to use 4 at once, it would be GLORIOUS.

I don't really like your suggestion here. The only difference between the armors is the paint job. Form dictates function. They're the same armor, they should provide the same perks and protection. If they were going to do something like this, I would rather they give 4 different armors with different perks. As it is, I don't think it's that difficult to just unlock armors with the perks you want.
