Ammo bearer approches the gunner -> enters reload animation -> finishes reload animation -> leaves joint reloading stance -> follows gunner, when gunner fires cycle repeats
You do not need to be constantly in joint reload stance, reload him, fire your weapon, when he fires and screams for new tube just reload him.
All ammo bearer has to do is to follow the gunner, stay glued to his ass. Bingo, you have reliable AT DPS.
While we're on the subject, here's my own standby suggestion: When assisting a shooter, let me reload THEIR gun from THEIR backpack. Don't require me to have an ammo backpack myself. This way, the gunner doesn't have to give up any personal utility in order to enable squad reload, meaning it's a lot more likely to happen in non-organised, low-communication situations like playing with pubbies.
If I see someone shooting at a Bile Titan, I could run up to them and assist for just that encounter, then be on my way. Quick, easy, seamless - ideal for public matchmaking.
And since one of us didn't bring any AT, having to shoot a lot of RR while also fending of the horde of hunters this would be a welcome change. (I mainly play duo)
(reloading from the others backpack)
If one has a ballistic shield it would shield for both of them (partly).
So it makes it much more desirable vs the bots.
But this animation would look very janky and a weird thing so I removed it from the first post.
It's a neat feature, I guess, but in several hundred hours I have never once seen someone even try to do that, let alone do it in a way that it would be better than just reloading yourself.
It's a feature in search of a reason to exist.
