Am I wrong to assume med. armor with extra padding is the best armor in the game?
Title. Because holy dimples in my bimbles, I've been trying it out lately and it's so hard to die while wearing it -- even while being completely careless I -still- have room to pop a stim and run away like my balls are fresh and made of steel.
Against the illuminates I can (easily) soak 10 hits like I don't care and (still) have around 30% health left -- which I find rather amusing to be honest.

...compared to wearing light armor and "stim panic" at every stab I get in my bun.

Wrong in the sense that it would be a bad thing for you to assume? No, not really. It's a perfectly serviceable armor.

Wrong in the sense that it's not correct? Absolutely.

medic armor with the stim booster is still better i would say
Default armor is best armor, and lore accurate.

Everyone's best is always different. Like for example Democracy Protects makes you effectively immortal if rng goddess loves you, I've had it proc 3 times in a row before from being rag-dolled around.

It's not the absolute best, really depends on what you're using. If you're using a weapon like the Adjudicator and HMG you might want to look at taking Engineering Kit for reduced recoil and extra grenades so you can bring a sidearm that isn't the Grenade Pistol. More stims and increased stim duration is still arguably the best in the game, but I still use the 150 armor medium standard issue set. It is absolutely underrated, though it will pretty much never prevent something that was going to one shot you already it definitely helps against normal mobs. There have been plenty of times where I survived a horde of bugs with 5% hp and if I didn't have the standard armor I would have been dead.

Although fact is, and no one can dispute this as it is in fact a FACT fact checked by true Super Earth Patriots that the best armor is whatever one you think looks coolest.

If you used light armor before, don't wonder that any heavier armor feels like an invulerability cheat.
If you got used to be very careful with not getting hit because it hurts, as soon you realize how much the medium and even heavy armor protection gives compared to the light ones, you will think for a long time or at least you get used to the medium and heavy armor values that it is unmatchable good.

Yeah but if you're used to Light Armor you also can't get over how unbelievably SLOWWWWW Heavy Armor is. Unplayable for me tbh.

There's an argument for medium armour + extra padding because it's over the 149 breakpoint for damage relating to bushes and stuff I think, but it's really a personal preference thing.

I would say medium armor with the extra grenades passive is the best.

Medium armor is without question, objectively the best type.

Heavy is far too slow and stam regen penalty is a death sentence, Heavy is literally unusable at high difficulties where you need to constantly be moving and hitting objectives, its trash tier and should never be used.

Light is noticeably too low of an armor rating, but the speed is insane, in some cases it feels faster than driving the car honestly. But the armor rating is so bad, you die almost instantly if a jumping bug gets near you.

extra padding on medium is fine, but I personally dont notice the difference in damage reduction between medium and heavy, so I'd rather take a passive that is more noticeable.

the extra nades passive is definitely the most noticeable passive IMO, having those extra grenades is awesome, you can just chuck em whenever you want with complete abandon.
The stims armor is fine if you are a baby-man who is afraid of dying, I guess.
The "democracy protects" armor is bad because you shouldnt be in a situation where you need it, and if you do need it, you are likely going to die regardless. Its also not even guaranteed to activate, so you are basically using a passive that does literally nothing, if it fails to proc. That ones just objectively bad.
The only armour I have found that does not seem to give any situational benefit is the flinch one. But they look cool so I use them anyway.

It's good for protection but in terms of Passive Bonuses there are better choices. A Fortified Armor will protect you more from Explosions than an armor with more armor. Having the ability to carry more stims or nades are also more beneficial

Alright, just want to post something quite off to what this thread has to offer, but apparently this thread has triggered a completely random individual so much he'd went ingame just to hunt me down and tk me, and also to post hatemail on my profile.
Oh wow. This community is really special.

Blaming the whole "community" (as if there is such a thing) for one individual seems extreme.

"If something happens in a certain community, it's because it's a common/normal occurrence that everyone does". Extreme as is (since logically I haven't interacted with every individual in this community), but still a valid point nonetheless.

:poeIIshifty: No it really isn't a valid point, at all.
