Basically a weapon manufacturer that made equipment that just so happen to look like Helghast equipment decided to donate equipment to the Helldivers is the in-game explanation
In this "Crossover"-sense we could even have the "Adeptus Mechanicus" from Warhammer 40k, being "just" a big group and factory-corperation on Mars.
I must say that it broke my faction satisfaction from Super Earth.
It no more feels like fighting for one united Mankind under ONE super flag of Super Earth.
If it was optional to turn off or on armors like these, it would be less game breaking for me. :(
I mean we can wear bright yellow armor with a bright blue helmet and a bright red cape and thats "immersive" but having a specific type of armor (that fits visually into the universe) isnt?
like ok.
Game for everyone is game for no one.
So except the "it is from Killzone"-tag it is fitting. Halo armours, from the Marines and ODST, would also fit - almost no difference to SEAF.
Same could be made with "Star Wars"-armours, even then we already have many helmets which look like from Star Wars.
Beside all that, the game already has "everybody can look fitting to himself", so with this logic it is already "for no one" - which I would object to.
Still, one can feel unimmersed by "crossover"-armours, which is fair I think, but it is not a problem of the game - if done in a good way - but with the player.
Well Killzone lore had Earth destroyed by nuclear weapons and populations migrating to outer space, Stahl arms became the major supplier of Helghast weaponry but that was long after that. It sadly won't make sense with Helldivers lore.
I'm hoping they will at least revive Killzone, if not and this was just a massive cashgrab and the last milking of the Killzone series by Sony I will be sad but not surprised..
