Enemy damage a bit too high or just me?
Mainly smaller enemies. feels like wearing heavy armor is just preventing me from out running them. at the very least if i could ignore smaller enemies staggering me while im trying to get a heal in would be nice. going to have to start running with lighter armor and see if i fair better but as a Heavy armor fan, i really wish it had a bit more pros. currently its just a human shaped coffin.

They reduced our headshot damage taken from an extra 100% to only 50% but at the cost of us taking more damage on other body parts. so your going to feel squishier

Armor is pretty useless. Go with light armor that gives you the stats you want. Better to have high stamina and be nimble, than take even the slightest hit while in heavy armor

Go Light Gunner armor. may cost super credits but you'll have the benefit of being Fast and having just enough armor to take some punishment

I really hate this change. I have to stim after almost every fight now because even the tiniest scratch takes half your health.

its way to high

It is.
The whole armor system is now pointless.
It's all about not getting hit now.

+1
Light armor for bugs and heavy for bots as of now.

and this too

light armor CAN work on bots, but you will need to play like it's a gears of war knockoff cover shooter with no cover if you want to raise the difficulty. right now due to the screwy way damage calc works a good chunk of the non-trooper bots can (more or less) oneshot you. HD2 is 100% a "don't get hit dummy" kind of game but wearing heavy armor will at least give you a fighting chance if you get splashed by a rocket. consider taking energy shield/riot shield backpack if you want to be tankier

for bugs, don't bother with heavy armor. the bugs' entire mo is huge swarms of melee units that attack fast enough the extra hit you would get from armor is pointless, you want to be able to outrun them instead. if you want to be tankier use energy shield, riot shield does literally nothing versus 99% of the bugs and the 1% it does something against you're better off trying to dodge

and for the love of whatever god you pray to run the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ vitality booster booster, it literally does not do what it says it does on the screen, it gives you 20% flat damage resistance across the board. it won't let you completely ignore incoming attacks but you're less likely to get instantly killed by one stray attack

In other words its an over all buff for bots. all bots with rapid fire, small projectile weapons like the machine devastator, the bots with coils on their backs, and all mounted turret bots will instant kill you. their fire rate is high and the spread of their projectiles is low. forget head shots, they got a damage buff to all damage done basically. In and RPG shooter, this would be the "ignore the crit damage and head shot damage build for over all damage and accuracy build." the separatists would have won with bots like this.

From what I understand, headshot damage went down by 25% (from a 200% multiplier down to 150%) but damage everywhere else went up by 20-30%. That's likely what you're feeling, and so am I.
Zvampen Sep 26, 2024 @ 3:02pm
Yes they messed up the balancing again, officially slightly less headshot damage but a huge stealth nerf where we take about 20% more damage to body and limbs, which is total BS and much worse than the annoying overtuned headshots. I guess they just couldn't help themselves, nerfdivers...

Ive grown an unhealthy obsession with ALWAYS having a supply pack, and If I'm not using supply pack I'm sure as hell using medkit armor with hellpod booster because I just take so much more damage now. Part of that is on me, I admit but... being a aggressive player, Ive noticed it HEAVILY.

Like getting headshot was fine, I'd take cover, Id dive, Id try to shoot them first, but at least I could take a few hits even in light armor.

Now instead of the biggest threats being hulks, bile titans, chargers, factory striders its like... normal troops using mounted base turrets that two shot you in the torso with heavy armor from 100 meters away, devastators being able to fill you with abunch of bullets really fast, hunters and warriors.

No not the multiple story tall four legged enemies that spew corrosive bile or have like six guns attached to them, its the little fast raider or fast hunter hitting you two or three times with their rapid fire capabilities and killing you instantly

the little insects jumps and deals a ridiculous dmg, the "medium" enemies are even worst, they can lock u in place for 3 slashes, u stim urself or u die.

I dont even want to talk about the devastators.
Netsa Sep 26, 2024 @ 6:01pm
Armor seems to matter for me, but I only have access to the first few armors. I do die noticeably faster when caught when I use Light Armor, and I definitely survive way easier when I use Heavy Armor (due to all the explosions bots and my teammates throw around).

I didn't experience what it was like before, though, so I don't have anything to compare it to. From the comments, it sounds like Light Armor was the new Heavy Armor, and Heavy Armor just made you invincible or something.
