They reduced our headshot damage taken from an extra 100% to only 50% but at the cost of us taking more damage on other body parts. so your going to feel squishier
The whole armor system is now pointless.
It's all about not getting hit now.
and this too
light armor CAN work on bots, but you will need to play like it's a gears of war knockoff cover shooter with no cover if you want to raise the difficulty. right now due to the screwy way damage calc works a good chunk of the non-trooper bots can (more or less) oneshot you. HD2 is 100% a "don't get hit dummy" kind of game but wearing heavy armor will at least give you a fighting chance if you get splashed by a rocket. consider taking energy shield/riot shield backpack if you want to be tankier
for bugs, don't bother with heavy armor. the bugs' entire mo is huge swarms of melee units that attack fast enough the extra hit you would get from armor is pointless, you want to be able to outrun them instead. if you want to be tankier use energy shield, riot shield does literally nothing versus 99% of the bugs and the 1% it does something against you're better off trying to dodge
and for the love of whatever god you pray to run the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ vitality booster booster, it literally does not do what it says it does on the screen, it gives you 20% flat damage resistance across the board. it won't let you completely ignore incoming attacks but you're less likely to get instantly killed by one stray attack
(source on how it works: dataminers)
Like getting headshot was fine, I'd take cover, Id dive, Id try to shoot them first, but at least I could take a few hits even in light armor.
Now instead of the biggest threats being hulks, bile titans, chargers, factory striders its like... normal troops using mounted base turrets that two shot you in the torso with heavy armor from 100 meters away, devastators being able to fill you with abunch of bullets really fast, hunters and warriors.
No not the multiple story tall four legged enemies that spew corrosive bile or have like six guns attached to them, its the little fast raider or fast hunter hitting you two or three times with their rapid fire capabilities and killing you instantly
I dont even want to talk about the devastators.
I didn't experience what it was like before, though, so I don't have anything to compare it to. From the comments, it sounds like Light Armor was the new Heavy Armor, and Heavy Armor just made you invincible or something.
