What are the best builds for Terminids and Automatons?
After the buffs, I'm wondering what the best weapons and stratagems are now for tackling terminids and automatons on higher difficulties (Suicide Mission-Super Helldive)

bugs:

grenade launcher absolutely wrecks
dominator is really good
railgun is really fun now
liberator carbine is good
arc thrower is strong

AC is good on both. Better on bugs now do the the armor nerfs.

Does it even matter anymore? Pretty much everything better than light pen works on everything now.

I saw a guy come up on a Charger with the arc thrower. It took several Zaps but killed it no problem. The Charger never moved once, each strike stunned it. Was cool to see.

Shame the Tesla towers are just charger magnets.

AC still lacks vs tanks and cannon tower
Quasar + termite vs bots is veeeery good
And scythe feels awesone too , but if you want some armor pen. Dilig. Countersniper is your weapon
Dagger now is top tier with granade pistol

Vs bugs anything works well now

HMG Emplacement. Great for mowing down swarms if placed smart, shoots down Shriekers, and with The Patch can damage Heavy bugs.
McFuzz Sep 18, 2024 @ 3:39pm
You can 4 man a 10 with basically any loadout. HMG is great on both.

I use the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ tenderizer, so, believe me when I say literally anything works lol.

Lots and lots of strong options. There is no one best build. Play the weapons you are best at using. Being skilled with a weapon will more than outpace any marginal power differences as long as you aren't picking like... the Purifier.

RR kills everything at any range except impalers and striders in 1 rocket, which need 2 and 3 respectively, has a 3 second reload and 6 rockets in reserve. Just one player with RR basically removes all heavies from the game for other players, where the AC is still the best general purpose medium killer for devs, commanders, etc. Very stale meta already. Primaries most improved are the penetrator, as the best bot assault rifle due to 2 tapping devastators while still being AP3, and the crossbow, which does real damage now

Having only played bots since the patch, essentially anything that keeps you out of close range unless you also have the ballistics shield. Also any primary which hurts a devastator is good enough to keep you or an ally mostly protected from that bot since it messes up the aim or stuns them.

-I recommend bringing a dedicated AT weapon, either thermite or a ranged launcher.
-The best anti-fabricator stratagem is Eagle Strafing Run.
-Higher armor rating and fire superiority directly relate to survivability, not speed.

Essentially the game isn't that different from before except weapons and enemys got shifted around. Going out and experimenting is my best suggestion at this juncture.

General Pond is the bugs' biggest nightmare. They fear me. It's rare that I die during a mission. 0 deaths is normal even at lvl 10. Even before the patch.

Bugs:
Scout armor medium
(Scout life all day every day, crouch and crawl past threats. You're a ghost. Also melee kills keep you quiet. Melee is so underused. Common for me to have 15+ melee kills.

Cookout Shotgun
(Very handy for the stun effect on medium enemies / Stalkers. Smaller bugs even grazing them usually kills them once they burn for a few seconds. VERY VERY handy for shreikers in the air. Rounds reload so no wasted ammo, ever.

Grenade pistol
(Very handy for bug holes, especially from a good distance)

Incendiary impact grenade
(Good also for breaches if Gas is done or in cool down. Just good in general for crowd control and if you need to retreat.

Gas Orbital
(Throw on breaches + sometimes heavies if you can get them while they're not moving too much)

Eagle Airstrike
(Strong, fast, and covers large area. Mainly for chargers / impalers and titans. Cluster if lvl 5 or lower)

Energy Shield
(Melee hits from bugs rarely hurt you at all with a shield. Especially those annoying hunters / pouncers that jump at you. makes your own melee less risky. Plus you can hook up your team mates, some really need it.)

Machine Gun (the medium sized one, switch fire rate to low. Just rips through everything except the chargers and titans.)

For Bugs:
Any fire base weapons, close range weapons like smg, or shotguns
Stratagems that can hit multiply enemies like 500kg or Eagle Cluster Bomb
Spear can one shot all the big bugs if you hit the head, Quasar Cannon as you don't need to reload, Arc Thrower as it can kill and go through bug armor, and Flamethrower

For Bots:
Any guns that have mid to long range
Stratagems that can deal with armor enemies like Eagle Airstrike, Orbital 120MM HE Barrage, or Orbital Walking Barrage
Support weapons like Anti-Material Rifle or the railgun has it can by past the enemies armor, and one shot certain enemies, Autocannon, Shield Generator Pack, and Laser Cannon
