Have been trying to use it, still very meh, Punisher Plasma does same but with more control and fire rate to add DPS, Scorcher is pretty much same with smaller blasts.

Haven't managed to use it on bug holes and fabs so far, so dunno if it is even capable of destroying them when shooting at the weak points.

not explosive so it can't bust bug holes / fabs, the Eruptor and Crossbow are the only primaries that can.

Even the tweak they're doing to it doesn't seem that interesting. Sounds like they're just making it either a single click scorcher or a charge up for a plasma punisher round

I would have argued it had a place before, but now I think all the plasma weapons are made largely redundant by the crossbow existing with 650 damage and explosive aoes that can destroy nests/buildings.

It was a DOA gun and still haven't got any buff ever, ofcourse it still suck.

Not to mention the recent buffs patch make any gun that doesn't get uplifted from their old pre-nerfed/alexus-era looks really bad, so that exposed how ♥♥♥♥ this gun are even more.

But personally, I think this gun is just a bad idea and shouldn't have exist.
I don't see anyway to make this gun great without making the other 2 plasma guns obsolete and vise versa.

Sometime less is more indeed.

Yeah.. that massive xbow buff that can destroy nests and buildings with 650 damage that can one or two shot most enemies is pretty crazy now

It doesn't make it seem worth it to use the plasma weapons anymore since they used to be nice as a primary that could take down certain enemies quickly or through armor like the scout striders. These days tho you can just run around with the xbow and one tap all that stuff among a bunch of other things

I tried going back and using the current plasma weapons and they just feel so much weaker to use. The plasma punisher takes like 6 shots to kill a devastator or berserker compared to the two shots the xbow needs

I hope they rework it into something more interesting than just another plasma gun. It has both a charge up and ammunition, so it should have a powerful attack as a trade off. Maybe just make it fire a big, conical blast at short range that melts everything. An actual plasma shotgun, if you will.

the plasma punisher is a l0bbing weap0n where as the purifier is a straight sh00ter s0 it can be use f0r precise stun l0cking 0r sh00ting d0wn gunships

the sc0rcher d0esnt have hit stun

thus f0r my specialized tastes the purifier is perfect th0ugh s0metimes i d0 swap back t0 the sc0rcher if i need pure dps but luckily because 0f this last patch (which didnt bring any0ne back hmmmmmm) dps is a sec0ndary c0nsiderati0n t0 utility and n0velty

Yeah, I'm aware it wasn't popular. It was still one of my favourite guns, and I knew how to make it work.
