(SOLVED) Process lasso and CPU Overheating
i've had a problem with cpu overheating recently, its weird because it din't happen back when i started playing but now has become a very frequent issue.
Everytime i play on a mission without using process lasso to reduce cpu usage, i get a heat throttle every 10 mins
and when i do use process lasso i get constant performance drops.

for clarification: helldivers is using 0% GPU and is up to date
throttle is every more frequent in higher dificulties like 10
also the throttle only happens in helldivers

im currently using process lasso to play but trying to hit shots in 10 fps everytime there is a bug breach is kinda hard.

Is there any alternative to reduce the overheating?

EDIT: no i dont use the ingame fps limit and i play at the lowest settings
EDIT 2: My MSI was detecting the wrong gpu, now its 50-70% usage
also, it seems putting ULTRA SAMPLING and putting it back to native makes the GPU carry abit of the load, helping with the temps, so far it has worked great

Doing this takes the load off your cpu and puts it onto your gpu, but for whatever reason when you change it back down to ultra quality, native etc the cpu% stays down and your gpu% goes back down as well. I do this every time I boot up the game, and doing this has my cpu going from 90% down to 50%
I have a RTX 3060 and i7-3770, 16gb ram, like to run at native quality

Specs?

Sounds like a laptop.
Limit your FPS in game or drivers.
Clean your cooling system, replace thermal paste.
How is it even possible that 0% GPU is used? Where do you see that?
But yeah. Specs?

i see the 0% on MSI

specs are
GTX 1650
16gb ram
intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3770S (yea i know its a bottleneck)
the pc is pretty new i think the cooling system is still somewhat clean and the thermal paste still good

That CPU chipset has an integrated GPU. Make sure it's disabled so your GTX will be used instead.

I'll give it a try

I just opened HD2 to verify, go into Options -> Display and look for "Graphics Device". Make sure it's using your GTX.

its already using the gtx

Either it's not truly using the GTX or your monitoring program is looking at the wrong GPU. I typically recommend disabling internal GPUs if they are not being used just to make sure processes only see/report on one.

alright, i'll go disable it and see if anything changes

MSI was really looking at the wrong CPU, now it gets like around 30% usage,
i also found a way to reduce the frame drops while not overheating the pc too much, basically just disabling CPU 0 helps alot with the temps while not sacrificing too much fps, though it still throttles in multiplayer, prob because of all the explosions and such

What the hell.

Apparently you can run it on an i7 3770s

Barring the ancient specs this is a dried up thermal paste problem.
Once temps reach a limit the CPU is down-clocked to mitigate, and you see less FPS.
Fun time to open up the machine and replace the paste, or get someone capable to do it.
