Why HELLDIVERS 2 should be more woke
1. Diversity of Representation

Making Helldivers 2 more woke could enhance representation for underrepresented groups. The first game had a militaristic scifi setting, and adding diverse characters—across race, gender, and sexual orientation could bring more players into the experience by making it feel more inclusive. As a game that involves teamwork and community, making sure that all types of players feel seen and respected within the game's universe can lead to a more diverse and invested fanbase.

2. Richer Storytelling

A game that includes more diverse perspectives can also lead to richer storytelling. By introducing characters or narratives that touch on deeper, socially relevant themes such as colonialism, environmental degradation, or inequality the game can go beyond simple "shoot 'em up" mechanics and offer players a more meaningful experience. Science fiction, in particular, is often used to explore real-world issues through allegory, and a woke approach could add emotional depth and intellectual engagement for players who seek more than action-packed gameplay.

3. Reflecting Real-World Concerns

With the ongoing social conversations about equity and justice, video games have become more than just entertainment they reflect the cultural context in which they're made. Embracing progressive values in Helldivers 2 could make the game more relevant to today’s world, engaging with the concerns of younger generations who care deeply about social justice issues. The game's marketing could appeal to a demographic that looks for games that align with their values, potentially broadening its appeal.

4. Creative Gameplay and Themes

Implementing "woke" ideas doesn’t mean just surface-level representation, but could also involve thematic creativity. For example, the game could explore narratives where players must confront systems of oppression, maybe even creating factions or scenarios that challenge the militaristic framework of the original. Games like The Outer Worlds have explored corporate dystopias and personal agency in profound ways Helldivers 2 could add layers of moral complexity to its otherwise straightforward gameplay by encouraging players to think critically about power structures within the game.

5. Financial and Critical Success

Games that adopt socially conscious elements, when done thoughtfully, often receive critical acclaim and can also find commercial success. The Last of Us Part II, for instance, featured LGBTQ+ characters and won numerous Game of the Year awards. Similarly, by embedding more progressive themes into the narrative or design of Helldivers 2, it could resonate more with reviewers, potentially boosting the game's profile and sales. Many game developers have found that progressive storytelling adds value and longevity to their games because it creates more dynamic, engaging worlds.

Your ideology doesn't support your point of 2. and 4. or 5. Problem is more representation means that there is no actual identity for individuals in this game.

Which is not attractive to most players, and point 5 pulls in no cash. So you need to understand your ideology before advocating implementing it as a marketing strategy or even a concept that may be marketable.

This approach is specifically designed to kill individuality. This devalues the relatabilty of characters to a majority of people in general. You cannot use an exemption as a marketable strategy to sell to the majority. Sales will always fail. There is no longevity in this approach clearly. The problem with anyone being a specific individual makes the game unable to tell it's own story. The game must cater to what you want the characters to be. Plus, this ideology is purely around private issues that should not be public. It is fine to make suggestions for customization, but for a particular ideology you are advocating for this means it must be the way you specifically think it should be. It is a nice bullying tactic, but it kills everything it touches.

Most of the world is at war, and if you want realism, they don't believe in this religion you cater to. Most people need food, yet your have the privilege to be worried about something almost all the world is looking at you wondering what your issues are. You have food, water, and shelter and your concern is something almost all the world rejects. Don't worry, when bread is more expensive and hard to attain, your least concern will be this. Be ready for the upcoming storm, there will be food shortages soon. I doubt this will be on your mind when you can't afford meat.

This should not be your primary outcome for a game. The focus is fun and escapism.

gender, and sexual orientation
There is no sexual orientation into the game, thankfully.

I don't think there are any "characters" other than players into this game neither.

When looking at most games, it's quite the opposite, it's truly sad but when games are openly "woke", they get a lot of negative reviews, making some video game review "politic based" and toxifying the community. the last of us was good, but not because there were LGBTQ characters, because the game was good, It could have been any type of characters, the players loved the story and the gameplay, only a few higly toxic minority cares about politics in a video game.

I have nothing against woke culture or anything, but I strongly disagree with everything you said.
Please don't try to include politics on games that are free from it. There is no sexual orientation in the game, there is no particular characters other than players, there is no politics apart from our beloved managed democracy. All you have here are people hugging under 4 500Kg bombs willing to sacrifice in order to do their part in the galactic war.

Why Helldivers 2 should not be more woke:

Or Dustborn?

Figures, clearly racist bigots.

Why People don't try this stunts with Games like ...
Earth Defense Force
Serious Sam
Half Life
Gauntlet

Would be Fun to see the Results. Just Imagine Diverse Giant Insects ... still getting blasted by an Air Raider to the Moon and back.
