Overtuning the Autocannon feels wrong
I am in the minority but the AC was always in great spot, a perfect weapon for most situations, limited only by backpack and stationary reload. Now with the flak mode, it just invalidates weapons like Grenade Launcher or the Airburst RL which were always 1 trick ponies.

I dunno if this sets a dangerous precedent for a power creep since time will tell that but I feel it didn't need any buff.

Now it is true that there is no point in picking the HMG, and the AMR is only save by the added mobility.
Flak mode is not even good because the proximity fuse goes off everything.

I kind of agree. Grenade launcher has been my goto weapon vs bugs for a long while now. Today I thought to try the new AC flak ammo and I just felt it a more better version of the nade launcher. Fires just as fast, more ammo, has an AP option to take down heavier units and can snipe from long range. Only thing the grenade launcher has going for it now is that it can reload on the move and leave you with a back pack slot free. Although with the nade launcher you ideally want an ammo pack anyway. I assume a slightly larger AoE, but the flak mows down bug groups just as well anyway.

Don't get me wrong, the new flak ammo is fun as hell, but it hugely downgrades the grenade launcher.
they should have given it to grenade launcher... Make it shoot smoke and/or EMS...
Not AC and Recoiless of all things.

The GL has the advantage of not requiring a backpack, especially given how strong the Jump Pack is that's a pretty huge advantage. Same with the AMR and HMG. The Crossbow pretty much invalidates the GL though, it does more damage with more range/accuracy and more ammo, only lacking in rate of fire.

Personally I've always found the Autocannon to be the odd one out. It's very strong against medium enemies, but at the cost of a backpack and doesn't do very much to heavy enemies. There are plenty of weapons that work against mediums and don't cost a backpack, some are even primaries.

Well, the flak ammo does have reliability issues, so the grenade launcher is still the better option as a dedicated light and mid cleaner. The one that completely bite the dust now is the HMG, and 25 more bullets don't cut it. Now it really need it's durable damage back to compete.

That means it is not better than the grenade launcher. Agree with ABRL, but that thing was trash since the arrival.

I'm not sure anyone was ever using the HMG, though. At least not since the previous patch. It was considered a bad pick before this change.

AMR and AC were always competing with each other, but I don't think AMR's position has been touched since it was never a mobbing weapon, anyway. It was a high-AP primary replacement capable of wrecking non-Tank bots easily if your accuracy was good, it wasn't replacing Airburst.

Airburst is the weapon that needs to watch out. People seem to have forgotten it's in the game.

The point in HMG is you dont lsoe your backpack slot. That lets you bring supply (Stims, grenades, and all ammo types) Shield pack (extra durability) or anything else you could put in that slot.

HMG getting 25 more rounds is exactly what it needed. The durable is essentially a penalty for using it as an anti-tank weapon when its meant to chew through chaff and mediums.

so as far as MGs go:

Stalwart: Maneuvrable, and easy to reload, great ammo capacity (250) great for chaff and suppressing fire, not great for meds, useless on heavys. A great run and gun option, esp for bugs. (No backpack slot needed)

MMG: Less easy to use than Stalwart, have to stop to reload, good ammo capacity (175) Great for Chaff, decent on Mediums, Struggles with Heavys. Good all around pick. (No backpack slot needed)

HMG: Lower capacity, but better than a AC for sustained fire. Chews through chaff and mediums, Loses out on sustained fire of Stalwar and MMG. CAN kill heavys, but not nearly as well as AT weaons, sufferring a penalty on its Durable damage. (No backpack slot needed)

AC: Can chew through chaff and mediums, can kill heavys with little exception (tanks from the Front) have to stop to reload, very little uptime (low capacity) (Takes up backpack slot.)

The buff was for Johan not anyone else.

Maybe try the new flak before you complain. I played 2 bot games with it and it sucks. Maybe its better on the bugs

they can always add this. GL with smoke rounds would be ACTUALLY insane...
