This bad boy can do literary everything.
There are that gas spray thing, but that may not play like other weapon very much.
Incendiary grenades if you have them
Eagle cluster, gatling, airburst...all fast recover stratagems that shred light enemies...
Honestly just use the MG43 and your other slots for heavy deleting stratagems. No need for warbond locked items. Even shreds chargers if you toggle the fire rate to max as it runs past.
Stun effects builds the more you fire into crowds of bugs.
Can struggle with piles of corpses though...and bushes...
- Orbital Gas is a given. So is anything with "incendiary" or "napalm" in the name.
- Machine/Gatling Gun Sentries you can basically drop and walk away.
- All the _____ Barrage strats and Eagle bombs are useful. See a base, drop a Walking or a 500kg, wait for the "mission complete" notification.
(Related to Eagles, there's a Ship Upgrade that grants 1 additional use on every Eagle strat. If you don't have it, I suggest getting it as soon as possible.)
- Flamethrower is good if you learn to control it. I'm not good with it myself. Airburst Rocket Launcher is also very useful in the same vein, but requires you to have a lot of distance before firing it.
- MG and Stalwart aren't really "crowd control", but they do have a lot of ammo!
For the rest of the loadout...
I usually default to shotguns when I fight bugs. They may not kill everything as instantly, but they stagger enemies, which is really important. Anything gets too close, you want at least one weapon that can stop it dead at close range even if your shot doesn't kill it. Because Stalkers exist, and so do headless rambos abusing some kind of invisible Last Stand perk. There's multiple weapons with good stagger, but Punisher/Slugger is one of the most readily available and has a very fast reload speed.
Any pistol is good. Any grenade is good except Thermite. There is no armor that's going to protect you if you get swarmed, so make sure your offense is solid. You don't want suddenly be helpless just because your strats are on cooldown.
TL;DR
Get the biggest boom for the shortest cooldown on your stratagems.
Make sure your primary weapon easily staggers enemies.
primary: cookout
secondary: senator
sup: recoiless
nade: impact
strat: gatling barrage, eagle cluster, orbital precision strike
light armor of choice (medic is good, so is stealth one)
And you are set. Recoiless for bile titans and chargers. Cookout has great ammo economy and stagger. Keeps chaff away, stun locks stalkers. Nades for crowd control and bile spewers. Senator for single med armor enemies. Stratagems purely for crowd control. OPS for closing holes and gen purpose ♥♥♥♥.
You can swap OPS for shield backpack if prefer better survivability
Just be wary of you teammates. Fire hurts like hell.
Secondary : granade pistol
Support : for D1-D5 laser canon D6 and higher quasar canon
Backpack : laser dog or bubble shield
Granade : gas granade or thermit
Armor : light armor with engginer passive for more nades
Strats : orbital gattling , orbital gas or orbital 120mm/napalm
Eagle 500kg bomb or eagle strike
HMG or rocket sentry .
With "almost" unlimited ammo, you will have a lot of fun with this build.
Blitzer ist great vs Stalkers and Alphas. You could pick the Fire Breaker as well. With the Ammo Pack, you will have more than enough ammo. But the Fire Breaker is not very efffective against Stalkers and Alphas.
