Constitution Rifle -honestly not THAT BAD-
Yes it not perfect, but personally i do find it quite usable.

Can still land head-shots quite reliably with it, can still tear a Devastator in half when shooting at the waist.

It does need a couple buffs , though.

-Melee damage needs a bit a of a boost

-a couple more bullet capacity wouldn't hurt, either

-a speedloader for when you completly run out of ammo.

An unsuspected but appreciated advantage is the lenght of the actual rifle , if timed correctly it acts as a spear, intercepting lesser enemies (at least, i tried it with the Melee Automaton Troopers, it works) attacking from the front.

It gave me a sense of power within melee which other weapons normally don't offer.

Plus, some payback against Troopers felt cathartic!

If anything it proves that there is room for melee weapons, as well.

Welp, those are my thoughts on the Constitution rifle.

[EDIT

Since this Discussion got resurrected out of nowhere, i just want to add that maybe when the weapon customization system gets added, the Constitution will see much better improvements all around.

The biggest buff it needs is a better sight, these iron sights are a damn crime against democracy for a precision weapon.
Once AH figures out the arcane techno-wizardry neccessary to make weapon customization a thing the Constitution might become worth a second look. Realistically it's just a straight-up worse DCS right now.

yeah, that as well.

I've returned from playing Hunt Showdown for a while and i thought that the iron sight was a bit off, but shrugged it as me needing to readjust to Helldivers 2.

But nope, it is indeed very off.

Nothing wrong with a bolt action rifle that reloads one round at a time in a horde shooter.

If you can't shoot with iron sights you're just bad at shooting.

Its a ceremonial rifle that is given to every Citizen when they turn 16. Its not made to be actualy used as a serious weapon in the game...
Logen Neuf-Doigts Dec 22, 2024 @ 4:37am
no point in taking it over the DCS

It's not iron sights, it's needle hole.

Ring sights are heresy.

I hope they just change the sight a little and never add weapon mods

The problem with the Constitution is that new players found it in their armory from the start, look at the stats and think it's a good standalone weapon...
It's not a bad weapon if paired with a Stalwart or Flame Thrower, but new players usually don't know that and in most case didn't have those support weapons unlocked.
In most cases new players are better of with the basic Liberator Assault rifle or the first Shotgun to unlock.

IMHO Arrowhead should have at least give that thing a detachable magazine or a fast loader...

Yes, by lore it should spawn as found weapon on the battlefield next to dead civilians (same goes for the Standard Liberator next to dead SEAF personal) so players that spawn with the wrong primary for the map/enemy can claim it.

They could always justify it with the Squid invasion and say that somebody in the SEAF realized they need to upgrade them. Give it increased damage, ammo capacity and even a stripper or en-block clip system.

I would just slap AP4 on it and be done with it I guess.
