Thoughts on Armor Passive - Democracy Protects
Rather than providing a "50% chance to not die when taking lethal damage", I think this armor should absolutely neglect a fatal blow, but with a cooldown of maybe 90 seconds or longer, making it a guaranteed second wind that can only work once per encounter.

The idea behind this is that I personally dislike dice-rolling in shooter games, and wish every armor set performs a consistent but not overpowered role. Being able to occasionally survive a charger stomp, or take an additional blow from warrior bugs can be a life saver, and might help some of this game's best-looking armor sets see more adoption.

least realistic armor perk the devs had ever made

I like it the way it is. I've survived some crazy situations by getting lucky.

Basically what OP is suggesting is similar to the Displacement Field perk in Helldivers 1: "A field generator that automatically teleports the user to safety when taking heavy damage. Operates on a 35-second cooldown."

It was one of the best perks in HD1, but I'm sure many people will whine that it'll make the game too easy.
I have survived buffed 500kg bomb point blank thanks to this passive. Got a good laugh on that

It's a meme perk.

You can stand in the middle of a 380mm barrage and not die if you have it equipped.

It exists purely for that one achievement to have all of your limbs broken without dying.

I saw someone take a 380 to the face and only fall down due to the armor. It's always hilarious to see.

I think it's okay. It's armor for gamble enjoyers.
The problem for me is that you often die even if it triggers because a lot of deaths are one-two-punches. DP makes you survive a rocket hit with 1 HP, but then the same hit ragdolls you against a rock and you die from impact damage anyway.
Could be fixed by adding a short invulnerability period of like 1 or 2 secs after DP triggers.

but and hear me out here: if you don't like dice rolling just don't wear the armor? if your reasoning is a personal preference thing just wear different armor and leave the rng armor to people who like dice rolling. if we are reworking armor I'd rather we start with the actually underpowered armor sets instead of the one that is actually strong but random. also if you want to get pedantic stopping chest wounds from bleeding you out is fairly consistent and decent.

Considering that the game's relationship to terrain is completly different from the first game, I'd say people will complain for teleporting them to their deaths instead.

Assuming such thing work and won't just shove you into a mountain.

90% of Helldiver quit wearing Democracy Protects before they mitigate all fatal damage in a row for the whole mission
