I get that the Constitution is a meme gun, but it would be nice for it to have anything that makes it even remotely useful and not just collect dust in the armory.

I was genuinely hoping it would get AP4 like the Senator did. That would atleast make it a primary that could in theory kill anything it needed to (and you wouldnt need to worry about the fact of that being broken due to its god awful DPM, clip size, fire rate, etc.) Thats all i think it would need for it to be a joke gun but still something to occasionally bring out, but right now its just a gag for a week that will never be touched again.

A rifle from WW1, one century ago, will blast through medium armor today. It takes level III or IV to reliably stop a century old bullet from punching your ticket.

A 200 year old design, not rifle. Id imagine that in the future that advances in technology would allow the rifle to have better qualities then its 1903 original. Not to mention it being a bolt action would allow it to withstand greater loads of round so it being AP4 wouldnt be too wild.

Again, in the end id just like a weapon that i can use occasionally even if it is only as a back up or niche thing that basically means i have to take the stalwart because of how bad it is for clearing hordes.

I think its fine to just have guns that you do not enjoy but other people do. You want meta, I like to just mess around with weapons that are not. Plus constitution is not bad, certainly better than in HD1.

I don't understand the point of your comment. Making the weapon actually viable would just help you enjoy the weapon more as you would be able to take it in actually circumstances that aren't just "Time to role-play the Battle of the Somme." or never since the weapon just is not very good at all (less potential, alpha, and DPM damage then the DCS for a mediocre melee boost).

And I'm far from a meta chaser, My go to load out is the base liberator with the verdict, stuns, MG, disposable AT, strafe, and precision strikes, and that was before any of those have gotten buffs. We all fought for the fact that they devs would not make weapons pointlessly weaker then other weapons so i don't know why you would take this stance for this one. All it really needs to be useful is AP4 instead of 3. Maybe give it a stripper clip feature equivalent to the Senators speed loader but AP4 would at least give it a cool niche of being one of the only primary weapons to have AP4 (much like how the senator is the only secondary to have AP4)

You are not escaping the "meta" allegations when you overdo a response like that. "Hammer instead of needle" comes to mind.
Also you say the weapon is not already "viable", I say "skill issue" from my 4th super helldive with it.

Lore wise, this is less a gun and more a propaganda tool to encourage teenagers to join the Helldivers. I imagine a recruiting agent handing it to a kid and saying "Here, Billy! When you're of age, you can wield some REAL fire power!" While capable of damage depending on the context, it's not suited for combat against armed robots or legions of bugs.

TF you on about bruh then why not give Counter sniper AP4 with the current tech it should have, or regular diligence but nahh you buff divers are against that as it would brake the game or something. I do agree the fact that there are soo many wanting it buffed cause the suck at using the gun due to lack of skill and understanding ♥♥♥♥. But the fact that people suck they wont admit it you are affraid as are the others to say yea i suck at playing some weapons and some difficulties, play within your limits not try to change everything to fit you.
