Anybody Sad About Liberty Day?
Come and discuss your feelings. Were you also hoping for a special event to happen for Liberty Day other then 24 hours of no Major Orders?

I love when someone who has no idea about game development starts to talk nonsense.
And no, modding does not equal game development.

Why did you expect something? Expect nothing and you will always be positive surprised. It is your own fault to have such high expectations.

We get content almost every month with new weapons, stratagems or something else. And they allow us to farm the premium currency (which is NOT normal btw.) ingame so that you can get the warbonds for free. It is a "Thank You" from the developers for playing their game.

I never invested more than the initial money into the game and I am a casual player. I don't want to know how many SC most hardcore players have in their banks...
I expect nothing from the game and I am satisfied with what I got for my money. Liberty day is more of a RP thing.

And to expect something someone has find in some files is stupid. It's not even official so it could get scrapped at any time. Don't put your expectations on something like that.

Playing devil's advocate, I've had all achievements for a while now and pretty much everything maxed out. I don't particularly care to play the game with no real, TANGIBLE, reward. That said, I've seen Facebook posts, Discord notifications, and at least one Steam news update weeks in advance. So, yeah, in a way, the "event", if you can call it that, was pretty over-hyped.

I can, however, also appreciate a free throwback armor, and a gun. But as was previously stated, AH didn't even put in Liberty day dialogue for the ship NPCs. Seems like an obvious bare minimum.

So sending constant messages about an in game event for days and weeks, dropping videos about how big this day is in universe, does not count as hyping something? Okay.
I mean, no? A notice of which day is Liberty day doesn't make hype. Yet again, I am here wondering where the evidence if they hyped it up but it looks like a big fat nothing.

All I heard were players hyping it up. Thiccfila for example pointed out Liberty Day was huge for Helldivers 1 because there was a lot of free content added back then, but to assume that trend would continue is really on the individual.

The way I see people cope is always funny to me and honestly a bit sad when they blame other consumers for how they experience a product. You pay for a product, the company want to create excitement and then does not deliver on the excitement. Sorry, but that's not the fault of us, the consumers. Stop viewing content drop as something that's "free" and something that shouldn't be expected in a live service model.

Special Event did happen. Got to take a break from fighting bots, got a bunch of achievements and almost finished up some warbonds, and I got the new DMR I've been wanting. Thanks SEAF! Happy Liberty Day!

I play the game for fun once in a while, not for unlocking stuff. I guess we are different in that regard. But I get your point.
I don't visit sites like Facebook, Discord etc. so I didn't got the "hype". But hyping an event with only words does little to raise my expectations. I get hyped, if things get officially announced so you can expect them. Like the new warbond next week.

I played Helldivers 1 so I can appreciate the traditional rifle and the armor, it's a nice gimmick. And it's for free.
So I don't understand people who got upset with Liberty day. AH never promised something huge for this day, so people got upset about their own expectations and blame AH for this. This is the way I experience this.

Okay, you can keep coping, it's okay.

I also played, HD1. The Constitution was kind of a meme then too, but the weapon itself wasn't aweful. But while the Discord is mostly ran by "representatives", they do get their info from AH. My earlier post about expecting public executions was from the Liberty Day schedule they posted to Discord. Admittedly I didn't fully expect much out of it, but they lean way too much into the memes and the RP aspects without providing that content. Could've done little cuts on the TV on ship to different events on Super Earth for the day, but no, just a hollow meme schedule that served no real purpose other than hype and RP.

For those that don't know, the schedule (via the Discord) was supposed to be something to the effect of:

0000: Strohmann News 24-hr Livestream
0600: Reciting of the Super Earth Anthem
0700: Dissident Executions
0900: Liberty Day Parade
1300: Orbital Bombardment of the Moon
1600: Synchonized Salute and Oath of Citizenship
1900: Super Earth's Next Top Helldiver Finale
2000: Surprise Dissident Executions
2100: General Brasch Film Premiere
2300: Reciting of the Super Earth Anthem

They made it kind of showy, so yes, there was some hype. Whether intentional or not.

No. But, if the game opened the Klen Dath II planet yesterday, It would have been a blast.

I'm sad because it's only a day. Should be a month!

I think it was the best thing they could do, just let the players do what ever they wanted with out other players complain that they were not helping with the MO, For once everyone was doing the MO. But no, someone has to even complain about that.

Exactly. The armor and rifle is a nice thing to get, but I don't think it warrants any amazing praise either. This is the kind of content and updates that was promised on release.

However, I must say that this thing has been hyped through official videos and announcements, so that is still a thing.

What makes the whole thing bad for me is that there was nothing of note happening in game. No dialouge, no goofy event to take part off, no ceremony, nothing. No cool and exciting major order. A community manager streaming a video of the anthem on repeat on discord. Lame and boring.
