Are bug spawns broken?
Just slept my way way through three lvl 10 missions, been noticing for a while that Terminid spawn rates are really low. Nothing even attacks us at evac and there were no patrols. For the defense mission not a single wave got through the walls and there were long down times where nothing was happening. Either this is a bug or the game's macro level design is way too easy now. Lvl 10 missions with almost no deaths on the terminid side is common now. Bots still seem fine.

bug and bot spawns are broken every patch, it's just about how often they break

They are but people get upset ewhen you mention it.
Defense missions are the worst, you'll kill all bugs/bots, wait a while with nothing happening and they pop up again.

Not just you, spawn are really strange atm.

And like the other guy above said.
This is VERY noticable in defense mission like asset evacution and elimination.

I was playing yesterday on bugs with a mate of mine, so we were only 2 on diff lvl 5. There was no end to the "bug breach" and spawning bugs. We were fighting 17 minutes all the time. I don't know, if something glitched, but that was wild.

Meanwile, having full party at diff lvl10 gives you - almost nothing.
Not many bugs, a titan here, titan there, few chargers and maybe 1-2 impalers.

I am dying more often on lower diff lvls, than on higher ones

There seems to be some strange things going on with the spawns recently.

Yesterday I got a tank and a tower on a difficulty 3 mission while farming SC, thought they only spawned on 5+.
On difficulty 6 we got 800+ bug kills in 20 minutes, while sometimes nothing spawns. I don't mind some randomness, but this is getting out of hand.
Lvl10 - okay here are 3 titans that can’t call a bug breach and two chargers

Lvl7 - 40 HUNTERS BARRELLING DOWN TOWARDS YOU 60 OF THE COCKROACH LOOKING MF ENDLESSLY CALLING BREACHES GET ME OFF THIS FLIPPIN PLANET

Something is really off. As host i get instant bug breaches even when others fight them far away the whole time. When only one come closer to me bämm bug breach. So annoying just endless bug breaches. Difficulty 9&10

They made some alterations to it in the last patch, making it so you're supposed to get swarmed more toward the end of the mission, but completing objectives doesn't make the spawn rate go up anymore, and they reduced patrols a bit.

The results, as always, are as if they didn't playtest any of these changes, because they don't line up to their intentions at all.

Spread Democracy missions are insane, with bugs getting stuck under ground, consistently spawning in bug breaches, patrols absolutely all over the place.

But other missions, toward the end there's just nothing. The music is playing but there's no bugs, no automatic bug breaches like there should be. Something is definitely wrong.

I've seen a lot of people leaving games in defense + eradication missions, too, because the length between breaches sometimes makes it feel like the game's bugged out.

TBH, I dunno why they don't just make bugs spawn like crazy out of the bug holes and NOT SPAWN when you destroy them. You earn the peace you fight for on the map. But that'd change everything about how the missions feel to play. It'd actually feel like we are assaulting a bug planet, like something out of Starship Troopers, but we're in too deep with whatever this is now aren't we?

I heard that the larva backpack side objective is bugged and if you go near it, it can result in really low spawn rates (or none at all).

spawns can be all over the place , but my suspicion is that planets have a hidden stat on spawn patrol rates and "bug per breach" rates and right now as we have a bot MO it must be on default on bugs planets, and that setting right now seems to be a bit lackluster

Yep, bug spawns are bugged at present. Some times they don't spawn and you just cruise through the game, other times, they spawn in ridiculous neverending amounts - like those eliminate missions where even after you have killed the required amount of enemies, it keeps spawning non-stop and makes it much more difficult to end the game by extracting.

Some missions like the spread democracy missions also go crazy on bug spawns with the amount of heavies coming in.
