Are armored scout striders bugged?
The rockets they fire are stronger than any other projectile in the game.
They are effecitvely mini nukes.
Direct hit with heavy armor is instant death, which i can live with, but impact anywhere near you can send your character FLYING across the map.
Something seems a little bugged with the amount of force they will apply to your character as these things really do send you into orbit or into the ground, usually the latter depending on the environment.

Also not a bug but i noticed their weakspots in the back aren't weakspots at all?
They're just as armored as anything else on them, unlike hulks or tanks which can be taken down with lower pen weapons as well if you play your cards right.

The rockets are easy to dodge and the striders are easy to kill if you have the right weapon, but i'm not sure if their projectiles should be sending you across the map at mach 5?

They have BEEEG ROCKETS, so everything sounds right to me
they don't have weak spot on the back
Their "head" is heavily armored, but legs are medium armor and can be easily destroyed, so you can call them their weak spot
Also you can detonate their rockets by shooting them
And they called rocket striders

They don't make any sound, except for the rockets launching and exploding. That is either broken or unfinished. As far as I can tell the rest of the unit is working as designed/intended.

What's really bugged about them (or rather makes them unfinished trash) is that they have no indication of when they fire said rocket. Tanks flash a red light at you, devastators take a stance, gunships have a clear sound that gives you time to dodge. Rocket strider rockets are slow but that doesn't matter if the explosion near you will still kill you or throw you against a rock and you die to impact damage.

My real problem with Rocket Striders is the fact the rockets are so small that you're more likely to hit and destroy the Hardpoint instead of the rocket itself, making it pointless to target to take out the Strider. While people would say bring something for them but not everyone is willing to go that route. There's a reason the Rocket Strider is fully armored and given a new weakpoint.

If the Rockets were a big larger, and destroy the Hardpoint they're attached to still causes a detonation, I'd be far more happy to deal with them.

Tanks still require medium pen for the weakspots. Anything that can take down a tank can take down a Rocket Strider. In fact, Striders can be taken down with literally any weapon by shooting the rockets themselves, it's just quite hard to do at times because it's a small, round hitbox that loves to deflect shots.

That said, the rockets are indeed BS. I've died from behind solid cover a bunch of times because a Strider rocket ragdolled me into the ground face first. Can't wait for the day they get neutered or their spawns get severely reduced.

I'm sorry to hear that post has hit you so deeply, you'll recover some day.
As i said the striders are easy to take out with the right gear, however today i forgot to bring a high pen weapon to kill them by shooting their hips and i'm confused as to why their heat vent on the back is the same amount of armor.
Stay on topic please, you've already vented on my other post so pick one.

I had heavy armor on, not with anti explosive but still.
The rockets themselves doing higg damage is fine with me, but something seems off with the way they can send you flying REALLY far and hard if they land somewhat close to you.

I am aware of their legs being weaker, i usually target those, but this is the first time where i didn't have any weapons that could pen their legs (only GL pistol).
It seems to be the only bot enemy apart from the factory strider or gunship that is impossible to kill without the right weapon, which is odd for such a "cannon fodder" common enemy.

Yes that's what i thought, but i was using a tenderizer earlier and despite being able to deal damage to a hulk or tank's heat vents, it did nothing to the scout strider's vents.
It appears that their legs are as weak as their "weakspot".
I'll try popping their rockets next time, i usually just bring a primary capable of destroying their legs or an HMG, autocannon or laser so i never really noticed that, thanks.

Yeah the rockets do seem to ignore cover too for some reason.
I never had issues with rocket devastator spam as you could bov and weave into cover, but the rockets fired by striders will send you flying and often oneshot you from impact damage too for some reason.

All explosions ignore cover, helldiver and enemy alike, which makes the really wide radius ones more dangerous. This means the best defense against rocket striders is cover which is either thick or estimate a standoff distance from it so your diver is not within the explosion radius when the rocket hits the cover.

Right but it's strange because any other explosive bots have used (rpg/devastator/gunship rockets, grenades and even massive laser cannons) will maybe smack you down to the ground at best, briefly stunning you (which i really like as an effect).
I'm a bit confused as to why a common enemy, the rocket strider, gets the equivalent of a warhead compared to other projectiles.
With the visual and audio effect a laser cannon makes i'd imagine that would throw you way more than a rocket would.

I genuinely think it's bugged, as there's a rather large chance you get thrown at lethal speeds even behind cover or as an undirect hit while other projectiles won't even do that much on a direct one.
