Punisher Plasma nerfed, time spent learning it wasted
Punisher Plasma post update Is trash in my opinion.

Up close since the shots are now high velocity and not arched it's much harder to shoot the ground and instead you have to direct fire enemies. This is a massive advantage lost for a splash weapon and makes hitting small enemies up close much more awkward and risky.

At range since the velocity drops abruptly your range also gets cut off. This makes mid range aiming unpredictable and long range completely impossible. You used to be able to predictably arc shots even at very long ranges, not anymore.

The predictable arched shots were also a massive advantage with firing over cover, very helpful for bots and something that made the Plasma Punisher unique.
The trade off for this was that it had a rough learning curve, it took time and effort to actually get good with at all ranges, and the further the range the more time you had to spend. All of that is gone now, all the time spent learning the weapon to gain this unique advantage is gone, shat on by the devs.

The Punisher Plasma is a straight downgrade from the the Purifier now and without the arched shots it has nothing going for it. The Purifier is just better in every way. Of course the devs solution to this is going to be to a nerf to the Purifier, just wait.

The A.K. bug that nerfs weapons based on feelings hasn't been dealt with, and probably never will.

For once again taking an interesting weapon with a learning curve and a high skill ceiling and ruining it (Eruptor last time), this time by just removing any skill ceiling or learning curve it had and turning all my time spent learning it into a waste and removing any unique or interesting traits the weapon had, (Punisher Plasma with high velocity and no arched shot), I've changed my review to negative.

Devs need to stop taking a ♥♥♥♥ on the players efforts and skills. Stop making weapons into some uniform blob of boring crap. And to keep the game unique and interesting.

they should just give the PP 2 modes 1 mode is like the pre-patch and the other is after patch mode, the first has more range, the second deals more damage and has less range

I love the punisher plasma. A shotgun that fires blobs of plasma is really cool.

Its a shame that it was and still is useless compared to the alternatives. Such is the case for many weapons still.

But hey these two balance patches has somewhat increased the loadout variety and made more weapons useful.

I hope that they will continue lifting the trash weapons out from obsoletion.

If they make it impact based instead of proximity based, then the change wouldn't be bad.

There is a saying and it goes like this "F around and find out". You guys F'd around and now you found out.

In hindsight, maybe it wasn't such a good idea to be constantly obsessed and complaining over nerfs. Then maybe this wouldn't have happened. This is what happens when things are overtuned.

Now imagine if they spend the last how many months focused on creating new content instead of having to retune weapons all the time?

100% agree with all of this. Especially the part about the time it took to get good with the PP. This wasn't a pick it up and rock weapon. It took time to get good with lobbing ranged shots. And when most weapons get nerfed there is a retreat weapon you can go to that matches its playstyle. Not with the PP it was a truly unique playstyle in the game and they ripped it out.

So what you wanted was new content to use poorly thought out weapons in? Interesting take.

So you wanted a dead game in another month so that there were only 10K people playing on a weekend it sounds like. The game was falling fast, with a bunch of other games coming out taking HD2s population they HAD to make those changes and still do. The game did not feel good, adding more pre-nerfed WarBond wouldn't fix that and it would only further shine a negative light on the game.
