Halt + Arc Thrower build vs Bugs
I think this is a pretty fun build.

Halt (using Stun rounds mostly)
Grenade Pistol
Thermite Grenade
Eagle 500kg Bomb
Guard Dog Liberator
Arc Thrower
EAT

With the Halt, Arc Thrower and Guard Dog combo, it covers all your crowd control needs. 500KG, EAT & Thermite lets you kill the heavies.

For Arc Thrower users, it's a bit of a pain when enemies get too close too you. That's why many people tend to use it with Jump Pack to escape and create distance. However, with the stun capabilities of the Halt and added firepower from the Guard Dog, you can stand your ground and continue to murder them.

Armor wise, I think the Light Gunner armor or anything with Engineering Perk for extra Thermites would work well.

Primary: crossbow
Secondary: LAS dagger
Throwable: thermite
1. Railcannon strike
2. Jumppack
3. Arc thrower
4. Tesla tower

This one is also fun enough imo. Railcannon to get out of sticky situations. Jumppack for "MoVeMeNt". Arc thrower for breach/patrol/overwhelm control. Tesla...mmmm, that's definitely for a big nests :) Just setting up the tesla tower in the middle of a nest to hold any bug that trying to get to you, while you running in outer circle and closing each bug hole. LAS dagger is very decent for clearing remaining trash (scavengers, a lil bit of hunters, a lil bit of warriors, acid mines etc) without wasting your crossbow's ammo, reliable sidearm. Thermite is self-explanatory

It seems many players sleep on LAS dagger tbh. It can melt hunters, warriors, brood commanders and also set them on fire, which is great. And it's a laser sidearm, which means it potentially has unlimited ammo cap

Halt is not a bad weapon. But the ammo switch takes too long. Another key, to shoot the other ammo instantly, would be way better.

It is possible to set it to change ammo with one button. Just go to change bindings and under combat, change "Open Weapon Wheel" from long press to press, and then bind it to the same key as your "Weapon Wheel Right".

Hmmm. Good idea. I already have a plan to use a macro for it.
Crossbow, plasma pistol or stim pistol, thermite, arc thrower, jet pack, 500kg, gas or orbital gattling for me. Shreds everything.

I'm still very much not sold on the gun. It's definitely fun and good enough to be at least decent on bugs, but it kinda feels like you're just jumping through a bunch of hoops to do the same thing as regular shotgun with stagger. Especially since the stun rounds are only AP2 and need to penetrate to stun while a bunch of things that you would want to stun are medium armor.

Yes, I know about the quickswap thing, and I still find it kinda meh.

It's kinda incredible against Stalkers though. I'll give it that.
